First Lake Nornam Family Retreat - Fantastic!

Traditionally our family vacations are at the beach and by the time we decided to do something different and chose Lake Norman, most of the houses had already been rented. We were blessed to find this quiet, comfortable, wonderful home. The house is accurately portrayed, in a quiet cove of a very nice family neighborhood. It was clean and neat and the upstairs flooring was beautiful. . The views from both masters and from the deck were peaceful and beautiful. The upstairs master closet was awesome
We had 8 adults, a 3 year old, a 1 year old, a baby and two mid-size dogs. We were concerned that the four bedroom home would not accommodate us very well, but the oversized downstairs master bedroom, the entertainment room and the large laundry room offered the extra space we needed. We actually put two pack-n-plays in the large laundry room. The extra kitchenette refrigerator downstairs was useful. The kitchen was nice with plenty of empty cabinet space. The gas Kitchen Aid oven with warming tray was great. The eating area was large enough to have dinner and play games together. The furniture was comfortable and we all agreed that the hot tub was the best one we had ever experienced. The screened in porch was large enough to hold the hot tub and table set and was a great place to keep snacks and watch our yard Can Jam games. The boat house was a great place to store our stuff. There is not an area to wade into and the water is very deep but the little ones jumped off and swim with life vests. We found public beach areas around the lake where we went by boat for picnic lunches and wading in the water.
The owner was VERY NICE to work with; very gracious and accommodating. He welcomed our two dogs and arranged for a late check-out. I notified the owner about a few minor things when we arrived and he offered to come immediately to take care of them, but we declined his offer: some light switches and the outside outlets didn't work, the upstairs TV was missing a cable to allow direct DVD playing so we ran it through a PC, the downstairs TV was huge but the picture was not clear, there was 'an old fireplace' smell downstairs.
Our brief times together as a family are precious to us and this home facilitated a wonderful time.It is located close enough to take advantage of multiple opportunities & shopping. We did sky diving and Crazy 5 Ranch which were fantastic but didn't have time for Carowinds or Discovery Place as planned. Just hanging out at the house was great!
