REYNOLDS PLANTATION'S NEWEST LAKE HOME

First of all, the actual physical property is superb. The location of the house is perfect- close to the Ritz Carlton (you can go to dinner by water if you like!) and surrounded by beautiful houses with impeccably maintained grounds. The house itself is beautiful; all the rooms are very large . First class finishes- granite countertops, high ceilings, beautiful moldings everywhere. There are windows everywhere, which allows for lots of light and terrific views from every room. When you lay in the bed in the master bedroom you have a perfect view across the lake as the sun goes down, and again in the morning as you watch the mist burn off the mirror smooth water. There is a nice patio off the lower floor, where the whole family can have fun playing darts and pool in the gameroom. Off the upstairs living room is an outdoor screened in living room, with couches and chairs and a tv and fireplace! Lots of ways to enjoy the beautiful setting.
But what made our Labor Day weekend really special was the way the owner treated us. He made me feel like a welcome friend at his home. He communicated easily and answered any questions I had. Then when we arrived he actually had someone meet us to show us around. The house is set up with many little conveniences that show a lot of thoughtfulness on the owner's part. For example, there is a gas grill right outside the kitchen on the main floor and on the patio on the lower floor. There are matches in the kitchen, which was nice as I forgot to bring any. There is kindling laid in the fire pit, which we had a lot of fun using to make s'mores.
I recommend Oconee Retreat highly. You will not find a more wonderful property to rent, and you will not be treated better by any owner.

This beautiful and functional home worked well for visiting our grandchildren and their parents. We all enjoyed the boating, fishing, and the lake country communities. The owner and property manager are a pleasure to work with.
Unfortunately, we can also attest to the competent health care at Lake Oconee Urgent Care and Putnam General Hospital. But all ended well for the grandpa and he swears the country style food at Putnam General was terrific. (Wednesday they serve chicken!)
The indoor golf training center was a hit too. It is at the end of Linger Longer Road by the pharmacy.

My family recently had the pleasure of vacationing at the Oconee Retreat. The property's description on VRBO sounded like a nice fit for my family which includes my husband, four children, and our dog Maggie. Mr. Beardslee was very helpful and prompt getting us all set up. The house was very well maintained with many inviting spaces. I'd say the kitchen with large keeping room were popular relaxing areas as well as the breezy screened porch. However, most of our time was spent on the dock and swimming in the lake. We were easily able to tie up our boat which we brought with us from Savannah. We love taking the boat to lunch or dinner at Gaby's at the Ritz Carlton Lodge which was right around the corner. Our week of vacation was over much too soon.
