Loved our stay!

My family of four stayed in the Sea Shore Cottage in July of 2011 and had a great time! It is exactly as pictured and described, a charming early 1900's bungalow with great amenities. The decor is charming, appropriately updated (think Pottery Barn chic) but has retained many neat features of the original house (which antiquers will appreciate). We loved the deck, the adorable "sleeping porches," the charming kitchen and dining room, too. Easily sleeps 4-5. The location is excellent for exploring MDI by car or shuttle and is a nice walk to the local Southwest Harbor downtown, shops, markets, bus stops, wharf and restaurants. We loved the location and prefered it over the much busier Bar Harbor. We stayed for a week and every time we returned to our little house on the harbor, we'd say, "don't you just love our little house?" One tricky part; it is located on the busy Main Street of town. The traffic is a little noisy if you are sitting out on the deck. However, many cottages, inns, B & Bs are located on the island's busy streets, so think of this issue is part of the "charm" of life on the island. And Christie the owner was great at communicating via email or phone, answering questions, etc. If you're planning a stay in MDI, consider this lovely bungalow. We hope to return!
