Luxury Creole Cottage located in the French Quarter, on Dauphine Street, one block from Bourbon Street and three blocks from Jackson Square. This historic home, built in 1875, has been lovingly restored while maintaining its Old World charm. Two bedroom and two baths, as well as a large living room and den, are meticulously maintained. The kitchen and baths are newly renovated, with marble and granite, including stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. The furnishings are antique and the house has been decorated by a professional designer.
One bedroom contains a queen bed and the other contains two queen beds. The beds have new pillow top mattresses and all cotton linens. There are two adjoining full baths next to the bedrooms. There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the den. It has a fully equipped kitchen. The amenities will make your stay equal to a luxury hotel. There is a relaxing patio, enclosed by brick and wood fencing, a perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail or glass of wine.
The house is near all of the French Quarter's attractions: Restaurants, Nightclubs, Harrah's Casino, Jackson Square, The French Market, Aquarium, River Walk, Canal Place, Preservation Hall, Royal Street antique shops and Bourbon Street jazz clubs.
To be honest, the house is not really suitable for families with young children. The antique furniture and fabrics are not child friendly. It is best suited for adults who are looking for a beautifully decorated retreat. It is perfect for two couples.
We also have for rent a perfect beachfront condo in Perdido Key (Pensacola, FL) VRBO Listing # 294983, and two lovely mountain homes in Highlands, North Carolina, VRBO Listings # 303786 and # 298029.

We bought this lovely Creole cottage in 1990 and restored it to its original uniqueness. It is family owned and we have used it as a second home as well as sharing it with friends and extended family over the years.
MaryAnne purchased this house in 1990
New Orleans is a charming city with a sophisticated European feel. The city is imbued with an ambiance like no other city in the country. I went to college in New Orleans, Tulane University, and fell in love with the city and decided that a place in the Quarter would be a perfect location to enjoy the food, the wonderful architecture and, most of all, the people of the city. My brothers agreed, and we found this Creole cottage in 1990 and we have enjoyed it immensely ever since.
You walk out the door and are surrounded by the French Quarter experience. Bourbon Street is one short block away, Jackson square is three blocks away. You can walk to all of the legendary and iconic sites within the Quarter, enjoying the restaurants, bars and historic buildings, all right outside your door. There is no better location because you are in the almost exact center of the French Quarter.
"Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality in your gorgeous French Quarter house. What a treat to walk into the door and feel like we were in a movie star abode."
Stayed at this lovely home on Dauphine in the French Quarter for a week that included St Patricks Day.Would recommend this place for 4 -6 people sharing.Great location one block off Bourbon, easily walked to the great music
bars on Frenchman Street and of course the zoo on Bourbon. The home has a very nice courtyard for morning coffee or afternoon beers.Sometimes when you rent private homes you are disappointed by what you don't find in the fridge and cupboards, not this place, lots of coffee mugs, cutlery, wine glasses and condiments to spare. Will stay again for sure.Make sure to check out the BMC on Decateur / Esplanade for great bands, also any bar on Frenchman's street.Fritzels was our fav bar for music on Bourbon.Food is awesome pretty much everywhere,we liked the Palm Court, great food, great band.
We just got home from a weekend stay at this beautiful home. I have never been in a rental that is so well stocked with all the essentials you could possibly ever want or need. First time that I have felt like a NOLA resident when visiting this great city. We were close to everything, were able to park right in front of the home, and enjoyed the wonderful decor.
The owner was very easy to work with, and she was very quick 5o respond to even the silly questions. If you want to stay in a great place, I highly recommend this rental.
My husband, son, and daughter in law just stayed in this "vacation get away" for a week. It is in the heart of the French Quarter and within walking distance of everything there. The house was well stocked with everything that we needed and the owner had left details of restaurants and other information that only locals know, grocery stores that deliver, delis, etc. The decor was New Orleans and we enjoyed it immensely. It was only one block away from Bourbon Street but quiet for the proximity. I would wholeheartedly recommend this vacation rental for anyone wanting to stay in the Quarter.
This elegant Creole cottage has been a wonderful home away from home during our last two visits to New Orleans. Mary Anne responded promptly to our email inquires and shared sightseeing information as well as insider tips that made us feel like part of the local community. The cottage is located right in the heart of the French Quarter, a 35-40 minute taxi ride from the airport. Although located one block from Bourbon Street, the cottage is on a quiet street. Jason, the property manager, was friendly and prompt when we required assistance upon arrival. The online photos depict the cottage accurately; however, they don’t capture the full grandeur of its elegant decor and charming ambiance. We were grateful to be able to retreat to the cottage between sightseeing, dining, and evening activities. We enjoyed relaxing in the back courtyard and hearing horse drawn carriages pass down the street. The wifi, landline, washer, and dryer were convenient and dependable amenities.
Although there are so many wonderful restaurants options within walking distance, we enjoyed those Mary Anne’s recommended the most. Eats located up the street, not far from where Tennessee Williams once lived, was great for breakfast. For a real treat, do as the locals and dress for dinner. On certain days some restaurants will reward appropriate dinner attire with a lagniappe in the form of a free appetizer or half-priced cocktail.
On our first visit we drove and used the parking permit that Mary Anne provided. We had no problem parking and because we were so conveniently located we didn’t use our car until we left! Whether taking a guided tour or exploring on your own, there are plenty of buses, taxis, and streetcars readily available. On this last visit we ate breakfast at Eats before leaving for the airport. Our server offered to call a taxi from a cab company located 5 minutes away. Be sure to read the information Mary Anne sends you (and peruse the big binder in the cottage) for more details! Thank you so much Mary Anne for generously sharing your lovely family home with us. We hope to visit again soon!
This is the second time that I have rented this beautiful home in the French Quarter. First time was a couples stay and this time it was for a sisters getaway. The four of us grew up in a little French Settlement and this was like coming home to grandma's house.
The location was perfect, one block up from Bourbon St and two houses off St. Ann on Dauphine. We walked everywhere.
The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and the linens were of high quality.
The kitchen was updated with new appliances. We did not cook because there are so many wonderful restaurants in the area. It was great to walk down a few blocks each morning to Café Du Monde for beignets and chicory coffee.
This house is beautifully decorated in true French Quarter style. The pictures tell it all!
Mary Anne was very easy to work with and had lots of information to make our stay more enjoyable. Thanks once again for sharing your home!
It was like living in NOLA in your own wonderful well appointed home. There were 6 of us, two couples and two friends, total of 6. We were there for the "Food and Wine Experience" that takes place every Memorial Day weekend. The house was wonderfully decorated, with a small patio perfect for brunch. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us. It was convenient for shopping, partying, or just relaxing. We loved sitting on the stoop outside the front door watching everyone pass by while having a glass of wine. Everything about this house was perfect. Thanks again Mary Anne for sharing.
