Phoenix Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo: 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-5)

Our short-term rentals are geared toward those who need to stick to a budget yet would still like to enjoy the additional size and amenities of a complete vacation home as well as the convenient location and private, well-kept environment of a resort hotel. Starting out at Motel 6 prices, even our most expensive rates are half the starting rate of a single bedroom and bathroom at the Hilton next door, yet with two to three times the space! We strive to provide a great value to guests, offering both affordable rates and the convenience of a full-size home in a pleasant gated community.

This is an upper level condo appointed with pleasing decor located in the gated Resort Vacation Rentals at Pointe Tapatio Cliffs community. The unit features a full-size patio balcony, accessible from two sets of arcadia doors, overlooking the community. Enjoy the relaxing view of swaying palm trees against a scenic mountain backdrop while you dine outside or sip your morning coffee.

The modern 1100 square foot floor plan places the two bedrooms on opposite sides separated by the living room and can sleep up to four comfortably with a queen and two twin-size beds. The open kitchen & dining area and nine foot ceilings create a feeling of space and openness throughout. The unit features a new 46-inch HDTV entertainment system w/1000-watt Blu-Ray 5.1 surround sound, as well as integrated iPod & WiFi connections allowing you access to Netflix, Blockbuster, YouTube & more right from the TV screen!. Further upgraded services such as WiFi Internet, calling features and premium cable channels are also available. Guests receive a mailbox key upon check-in, so those here for multiple weeks or months may have their USPS mail temporarily forwarded directly to the resort mail huts!

The Pointe Resort is a gated resort community located in North Phoenix about 10 miles Northeast of downtown and is adjacent to the Pointe Hilton Resort at Tapatio Cliffs. The grounds contain three pools with three spas, and tennis and basketball courts, along with public barbecue areas and pool restrooms with showers.

The centralized location within the North Phoenix area provides a convenient home base for all the Valley has to offer. Nearby is the North Mountain Preserve where there are numerous hiking and biking trails. Ten golf courses are within a seven mile radius. It is conveniently located one half mile from a large supermarket and within 5 miles of two major Phoenix indoor/outdoor shopping malls (in addition to many chain stores and restaurants within 2 miles or less), yet this gated community is a virtual hidden oasis for tranquil relaxation. Great vacation spot for couples, families and golf enthusiasts!

We thought the rug was a trip hazard. It was even folded up from people tripping over it several times. The basketball court was nice but could use some shade for the hot summer days. The area next to the court was full of sand burrs and thorns. Overall we had a great stay. The linen closets were well stocked and even had beach towels. The pools were nice and had some shaded spots. I liked that there was a bathroom and a drinking fountain at the pool.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Theresa. We just want to add a footnote that the area rug corner that was folded must have gotten that way due to the sofa leg. We responded to your notice and it has now been flattened and also anchored by the leg so that it is no longer an issue. Thanks for the heads up and we are glad you enjoyed your eight nights with us!

Neat, clean, good location for couples without children

  • 3 of 5
This is a very clean unit in a good location. It is central to most locations and Phoenix is easy to get around. The furniture is nice but as others have mentioned, the bed is too high.

The pots and pans were terrible. They are old and worn. You would not use these in your home. We bought some for our use.

The TV/ sound system is very good. However, rather than write the instructions down, you are given a quick class on using the three remote controls and are expected to remember how to use it all. It is frustrating and unnecessary. Also, the parental locks were set. We called and emailed for the code to change them. We never received a response.

The management requires you to write two reviews or they will withhold your deposit. This is not on the front page of the contract as it should be, they have written it on a yellow sheet that is briefly discussed when you check in, of course, you've already paid and have no choice. It is also on the back of the contract under the map. Never trust a party that will unilaterally change the terms of a contract and hold your money hostage. If this were a term, it would be on the front page above the signatures. The deposit is your money, not the management's. As a lawyer, this was quite alarming.

Do not bring kids to the pool. While I only had one and he is quiet, other children being children had residents yelling at them to "be quiet" and threatening to call the police. I was not involved in these exchanges but was merely observing. These kids were not being overly loud or boisterous. In fact they were very well behaved but squealing a little as little kids do. The pools are nice but not "kid friendly."

Owner's Response: While we appreciate all constructive feedback and found these guests to be very pleasant when we met them, we are obligated to correct statements in reviews that are not accurate. They were not sure about extending their trip and decided to wait to see the unit first. As soon as they arrived they were happy with the place and asked us to charge them for an extra three nights, which we did.
They were shown how to operate the TV equipment in person upon check-in (something few other rentals here do) and said they understood. They also could have called us any time as we have someone on site 24/7 and we would have helped them by phone or gladly come by to show them again. Thirdly, there were instruction manuals right there below the TV in the cabinet.
We always take complaints into consideration but have to gauge it by three criteria: A) Is it something we can also see ourselves and would it matter to us as guests? B) Have any guests complained about this in the past? and C) Is it a reasonable complaint considering our low-budget rates? (we're not the Ritz Carlton). Since the guests never contacted us about their issue with the pots and pans and we only found out about this in their review, we had no chance to survey the situation ourselves during their stay. We would have gladly supplied them with more had they asked. Also, we did check them upon their departure and found nothing wrong with them. They appeared clean to us and we never had a complaint about them before but they are not brand new.
To clarify, we ask that a guest perform a very short checklist upon their departure which includes running the dishwasher, locking the doors, turning off fans and copying and pasting their rating of us at two links (which they may do anytime during their visit). This is explained upon check-in and the guest had no objections. To be clear, we NEVER said they would not get their deposit back if they didn't do any of these things, but we do ask them to do all the things on the list to complete the check-out.
Finally, we do apologize about a resident who apparently yelled at the kids to be quiet while at one of the pools. In ten years this has happened twice, but we can't control others' behavior. Nevertheless if they were not making unreasonable noise that would affect the enjoyment of other pool patrons and it is not late at night there is no problem with kids playing and making noise. We also have three pool areas to choose from.

Would Reccomend

  • 4 of 5
We are a family of four, with two young children (8 and 5). Overall, I would recommend this condo to others; we chose this based on location and price. It was as advertised- a 2BR 2BA fairly spacious condo, within minimal walking distance to pools. We enjoyed the location- it was easy to GPS many restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions. The proximity to North Mountain was wonderful- my son and I enjoyed a long hike one morning, and it was great that it was only 5 min away. We also hiked a portion of Camelback Mountain another day- during rush hour, it took 25 min to get there, so not bad at all. On other days, we visited the Desert Botanic Gardens, Children's Museum, and other locations.

We had two issues while we were there- when we arrived, within the first 1-2 hours, we realized that what we assumed were the floors were dirty- our 5yo daughter's feet were quite dirty after simply playing in the condo. We are a family who wears no shoes in the house- and had done the same in the condo- so we were sure we weren't tracking anything in. Steve was prompt in having the cleaning crew return to clean. However, as the cleaning lady suggested (and we agreed), the rugs were somewhat dirty (perhaps because AZ is so dry and dusty), so cleaning the hard floors again didn't really solve the problem.

While we were very happy with Steve's accessibility and promptness (we greatly appreciated that he quickly let us know that we had forgotten several items in the condo after leaving and that he arranged to have them sent to us), we felt that he seemed somewhat condescending in the way he spoke to us (e.g, he seemed dismissive of feedback we had given about the rugs/floors) and when inquiring about other questions/problems. Overall, again, I would recommend this condo- but the rugs should be cleaned, and a better attitudinal sensitivity with regard to customer service would go a long way towards improving the experience.

Owner's Response: We thank all our guests for their feedback and are always happy when they enjoy their stay, and are one of the very few rentals here to offer not only full, on-site service 24/7 but personalized greeting and check-in as well. We have never had a complaint regarding the floors so were quite surprised when the guest told us poorly cleaned floors might be what caused their bare feet to collect dust. The Arizona desert atmosphere is very dry and dust does accumulate and stick to the oils on bare feet quite easily no matter how clean a place is. Nevertheless, we wanted the guests to be happy so arranged for housekeeping to come over immediately the very same day and redo all the floors at their request, something that had never been requested before.
Housekeeping reported that the guest realized what we had suspected, that it was not an issue with the floors being unclean after all. We never heard another complaint from the guest and only after we called them to check in on them one last time just hours before check-out at the end of their stay (and specifically asked about it again to be sure of their satisfaction) did the guest hypothesize that maybe the issue was due to an area rug. It is very unlikely one area rug under the coffee table and one runner in a bedroom (comprising less than 10% of all floor space) would cause much of an issue, as a vacuumed rug does not transfer dirt as easily as dust on bare floors. Again however, we do not like to challenge a guest even when we suspect differently but then reminded him about the nature of the climate which he seemed to understand at the time.
We were very surprised to read only now that the guest felt dissatisfied that we did not enter into another last-minute discussion on his new theory upon check-out, especially since it was we who called him and had no other complaints from him the entire stay. All we can say is that we responded to and resolved their one complaint as we do all guest issues immediately the same day, and our service is usually praised compared to most other units here which are managed long distance by absentee owners. We immediately informed them of several items they left behind and offered to ship them back, as they seemed to be in a hurry (oven was left on) and the place was quite messy upon check-out, but to be fair that is not uncommon with families with small kids. We continue to pride ourselves in our 24/7 on-site service and long record of satisfied guests.
