HISTORIC VICTORIAN WITH MODERN AMENITIES STEPS FROM THE BEACH

Our family has been vacationing on LBI for more than 40 years. We've outgrown our previous rental locations, so this was our first year at Penn Raven Cottage, and there were 17 of us, from age 6 to 83. Our family can't say enough good things about Penn Raven. From the size of the porch (huge), to the number and size of bedrooms and bathrooms, to the amount of interior living space - it's all wonderful. The first floor bedrooms are great for anyone who doesn't like to climb stairs. There was enough space for the family to be together at meals (most of which we ate on that wonderful porch), as well as space to spread out throughout the house singly or in small groups for reading, games, etc. The large yard had plenty of space for folks to play croquet and bocci ball on a luxurious grass lawn.The house is clean and well-maintained, the furnishings are beautiful and the Victorian charm impressed us all. Because it's right in the heart of Beach Haven, you can walk or bike to anything that you need, from groceries to the pharmacy to Bay Village and Fantasy Island.
The owners were incredibly responsive to a small problem (the dishwasher had a leak) and sent out the repairman immediately.
We would recommend Penn Raven to any large family. We'll definitely be back next year and anticipate that we'll be coming back to Penn Raven for years to come.

Our family has enjoyed vacationing on Long Beach Island for over 30 years. We spent 2 weeks at this lovely Victorian home this summer. Young and old loved this house immediately upon entering the beautiful foyer. We ate all our meals on the wonderful, wide, wrap around porch and enjoyed watching beautiful sunsets from the comfort of the porch. The grandchildren loved having the porch, yard and family room to play in. The size of the house provides opportunities for large groups to gather together and also a feeling of privacy for individual time. The kitchen is well stocked with more than adequate china, glasses and silverware. There are wonderful large pots and skillets which make it easy to cook for large groups. The bedrooms are spacious with ample room for cribs or small children and the beds are very comfortable. Our grandchildren and their parents were very happy with the closeness of playgrounds, ball fields, and Fantasy Island as well as the beach. Everything you could possibly want is within an easy walk. This home is lovingly carried for and very clean. The owners were very accessible to answer our questions and concerns. They made us feel very welcome. We were impressed by the VRBO pictures of the house and found them very accurate. We all enjoyed reading the books on the coffee table to learn about the history of the house. Our stay in this historic Victorian home gave our older grandchildren a real picture of life in another time. This was one of our best family vacations and we are looking forward to returning again next summer.

We rented this house in the early part of the summer and loved it. If you like to rent a nice Victorian with really large porch, this is perfect. We loved eating out on the porch for most meals and to enjoy a glass of wine after our kids went to sleep. Our daughters, 4 & 6 loved this house. The kitchen is well equipped, the house is really clean and well decorated. We would definitely stay here again. The owners are really nice and very enjoyable to work with also!
