Wonderful location, wonderful apartment!
We actually stayed in the apartment next door to this one, which is also owned by Jon. This apartment is spotless, with 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 with a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and laundry. The living space has an amazing panaramic window, from where you can see the streets and beautiful beach of Barra from the 10th floor. During Carnival you can watch the Barra circuit go by, and the people flocking down to see all the action.
Jon organised a van for our group of six, to pick us up at the airport, and deliver us to the apartment during the Carnival craze! He was very welcoming, and made absolutely sure we knew where everything was, what to do and look for, and the "gotchas" during carnival.
Jon kept in contact with us over the time, to make sure we had everything we needed, including inviting us to one of his friend's parties!! It was great to be able to ask him questions at any time. There was also a lady on a lower floor in the building that cooks lunches and pizzas at an extremely great rate - for those days that you need to recover from carnival of the night before!
We had an amazing time, and this was a great apartment suiting a group of friends or family. The location of this apartment makes it extremely convenient, with literally a 150 metre walk to the beach.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to host Rachel and her Australian/Brazilian group during carnival. They were exceptionally clean, tidy and treated the apartment and our neighbours, with the greatest care and respect.
They loved the apartment location, because it's perfect for being able to pop back to for a quick pit-stop when you're out enjoying carnival all day and night. And because we're really close to all the action, we're not quite in one of the streets which are closed off to traffic, so we are able to arrange airport transfers for guests to and from our front door. A great advantage in the bustle of a Salvador carnival.
And I'm glad to hear they enjoyed the friendly community of residents we have in our building, especially the "in-house" chef, whose delicious home cooking is just the kind of comfort food you need after a hard day's night.
We're happy to recommend Rachel and her friends to other hosts. Great guests!
