Sky View is a 1,860 square foot peaceful, beautiful, historic log cabin . Big enough for large groups and cozy enough for smaller ones!

Enjoy the breathtaking views from the front deck and large windows of this historic getaway! Surrounded by forested beauty and national forest service land you will enjoy beautiful sunrises/sunsets & many different types of wildlife. Such as deer, squirrels, turkeys,coyotes,elk, various birds and more...

( Also a pond across the road that adults as well as

children really enjoy)

5 themed Bedrooms- 2 have a QN bed, 1 has a DBL and a QN, 1 has a DBL and the other has 3 twins. 2 Full Baths with one on them connecting to one of the rooms with a QN bed.

Fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher.

(Sky View) and our other cabin (Pine Crest) were built in the 1930's by the CCC's (Civilian Conservation Corps) They were the Army Officer's quarters of Camp Custer.

One may walk across the road and see the foundations of the buildings that were once part of Camp Custer. In all of South Dakota these two ponderosa pine Log Cabins are the only officers quarters that remain of the CCC Camp. One of the Cabins (Pine Crest Log Cabin) in which you will be staying is in the National Register of Historic Sites. The other (Sky View Log Cabin) is not registered due to a recent addition to the cabin. If you are looking forward to a peaceful relaxing vacation this is the place for you. Away from all the hustle and bustle of town, yet close to all the main attractions. Our Black Hills Cabins, Vacation Homes, Getaway, Lodge, Resort are Located 7 miles NW of the town of Custer SD, 5 miles W of Crazy Horse Monument and 15 miles from Mt Rushmore in the Black Hills National Forest of South Dakota. We are privately owned on 5 beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota acres.

This cabin was so beautiful to come to. We spent a week here in June 2012. After spending the day out sight seeing in the area it was wonderful to come "home" to this beautiful cabin tucked away in the hills. Staying here was one of the best parts of the entire vacation. Even our kids loved the cabin. I was worried they would not like it because there isn't a TV. But I don't think they even noticed. I will definately stay here again when in the area.
4 of the bedrooms are up a few stairs. But otherwise everything is accesible from the main floor. There are no steps to get into the cabin either.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway
