Vila Nova de Cerveira Villa Rental Photos and Description
4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + shower, sleeps 8
Vila Boa is a fairly new and very spacious 4-bedroom villa that is used for part of the year as a family home, so is extremely well equipped and very comfortably furnished. Basically, it has everything you might need for your holiday, and a lot more besides. The focal point of the house is a large open plan room comprising lounge and dining room, with a great kitchen at the side. Additional features include a breakfast bar, a piano, a fireplace, satellite TV and plenty of very comfy sofas. A children's bedroom, then 6 steps lead to the bedroom wing, with 3 more double rooms and two bathrooms. Outside, there are plenty of lawns dotted with shrubs and fruit trees, a barbecue with supporting facilities, two terraces, one on either side of the house, and a great swimming pool with a children's pool that doubles as a kind of jacuzzi. The property is at the edge of the village, with specatcular views across the valley, and is an ideal spot for a relaxing, stress-free family holiday.
This house is immaculately presented, fully equipped, and with all linen and towels provided, and is in an ideal spot for a great summer family holiday. The private garden and pool provide a great environment for the kids to play, and the setting, surrounded by hills and forests, is enchanting.
The location makes it easy to discover all the treasures of this unspoilt, friendly region. For those who enjoy rural sightseeing, just touring around, or taking some long walks, there's plenty of scope in the meandering lanes of Alto Minho. There's plenty of history, culture and night-life in a dozen towns within a short drive. There's karting, canoeing, surfing and fishing, and the World Heritage City of Porto. The traditional Romarias, folklore, singing, dancing and decorative crafts and costumes provide an unusual taste of the local culture. And the famed cuisine of the Minho region can be found in restaurants galore, accompanied by Portuguese wine - one of the world's best kept secrets!
Visitors will naturally be drawn to Vila Nova de Cerveira, Valença and Caminha, three of the closest towns, all on the banks of the River Minho, which forms the border with Spain. Each is full of history and has its own character. Or cross the bridge to Spain (or take the ferry from Caminha), for a slightly different cultural experience - and to get cheap petrol!
The beaches of the Costa Verde are a short drive away: 100km of safe, clean beaches, predominantly wide stretches of white sand, with a comprehensive selection of surf beaches, family beaches and quieter, more romantic spots - you can go to a different one each day to suit your mood. The variety is amazing and though the Atlantic water is never very warm, the summer sun is guaranteed to be scorching. The local hills also have many mountain pools and waterfalls that are good for bathing, and there are also warm, sheltered river beaches on the River Minho.
One additional point of archaeological interest, just five minutes' drive away is the fortified Iron Age settlement at Cossourado.
