I booked this villa mainly because of the good reviews it had from previous guests. I needed to accommodate 11 family members for 5 nights and the villa's facilities certainly did that. David responded very quickly to all my e-mail queries and it was most helpful to have him arrange taxi transport to and from the airport, especially as we arrived late Sat night. The taxi driver met us at the airport and arrived in plenty of time to get us to the airport on our day of departure. Arriving at the villa, we were met by Jane, who showed us round ,explained how things worked, read the electricity meter/water meter and gave us our number for the wifi. We had paid for 3 cards for the aircon (mainly for heating in the early evening, just to take the chill off the rooms). We only used 1 card and were refunded for the other 2. Two sets of keys are allocated, which we found enough for us. All the rooms were very suitable for our family - all 3 of our teenage girls decided to sleep in the round bed of the 'Penthouse' - they had such fun up there! Arriving late we were concerned about our evening meal, but the villa had milk, bread, margarine, biscuits, ham, apple juice, tea and coffee as a first night supply.



Jane suggested 2 local restaurants and 3 in St Julians. We would highly recommend Brewmaster Pizza and Pub - just down the main road from the villa. It may not look much from the outside but the food was very reasonable and freshly prepared. All 11 of us were made to feel most welcome. Further down the road we would recommend the Chinese restaurant Pavillion. It was very useful to have a local supermarket just down the road too - Greens. It is a bit of a 'rabbit warren' inside but it sells everything - even Cadburys chocolate! I took some recycle bags with me as carrying food up the hill (esp bottles) to the villa needed a couple of us - but Green's will deliver. There is an ATM next door to the supermarket.



We couldn't really make the most of the pool and Jacuzzi mainly because of the time of year, which was expected. Also, it got dark at about 5-6pm and chilly, so we stayed indoors in the evenings. A couple of our group had a quick dip in the pool but it was too cold! Sitting outside in the sunshine was very pleasant anyway.



Getting out and about around the island was the challenge of our holiday. The buses are in a state of flux at the moment. Arriva had taken over the tender of the bus company but have recently gone bust.

Huge and beautiful villa

We spent one week in Villa Belvedere and only positive comments to give. Huge and beautiful villa, amazing sea view, perfect location close to San Julians and just between the North and the South of the Island. Jane was also very helpful. Whenever we needed her, she always answered and found a solution. At the end of the journey, no bad surprise, it all happened as stated in the general conditions. Very good place to stay with your friends or family !

Just the ticket

The villa is a well presented spacious living area that comfortably met our requirements. The locations is ideal, close to St Julian's/Spinola Bay and a short distance to the local supermarket. It is a great base if you want to explore the island of Malta or to take the short drive up towards Gozo. Alternatively if you would rather just spend time at the villa, you wouldn't be disappointed. At this time of year, the pool basks in sunshine from sunrise until mid afternoon when the shadow of the villa unfortunately covers the pool.

The property is clean, up to date and is well furnished with all the items required for a villa. It is slightly in need of some decoration refreshment here and there but this does not take away from the overall impressiveness of the place.

David was extremely responsive with his communications and answers and I would recommend that if you are visiting the area to consider this as a place to stay

great value family holiday!

We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Villa Belvedere. Fifteen of us, which included 8 children between the ages of 2 and 14, and 8 adults stayed at the villa for a full week in July and it suited us perfectly from the moment we arrived.

Here's what we loved:
- Loads of bedrooms well laid out and more than enough bathrooms for everyone to stay out of each other's way. The villa is HUGE
- constant hot water, which blasts out at a lovely high pressure in the showers
- 2 decent sized fridges and freezers so we could stock up on plenty of food and drink and ice
- a beautiful private outside pool with fab bbq and access to a brand new indoor pool (which includes a super cool seating area with couches. If we'd had more time we would have made more use of it)
- great wifi access
- mind-blowing views from numerous balconies
- modern, clean decor with plenty of seating for everyone
- a washing machine! awesome, hardly had anything to wash when we got home.
- travel cot provided
- good pillows and linen
- awesome kids play area with playhouses and all sorts in lower ground floor, my kids (2 and 4), loved them!
- an industrial sized washing line
- and do ask David to organise airport transfers for you, it was great walking off the plane and seeing our name board in the airport!

The villa was lovely and clean on arrival and Jane was very welcoming. We needed milk, bread and all the basics and Jane drove three of us down to Green's (some of the reviewers call it an aladdin's cave and this is so true!), the local grocery shop, waited for us to stock up and drove us all the way back. Thank you Jane! (she also helped me print some boarding passes which i'd stupidly forgotten at home and hand delivered them the morning of our departure so another big thank you to Jane!)

I've seen some other reviewers moan about the usage allowance of water and electricity but I have to say, we were reasonably careful but not obsessively so and we didn't go over our usage allowance at all - we did loads of washing and the dishwasher was on every night. So I would say just behave normally and you'll be fine.

All in all, I would definitely recommend Villa Belvedere for a good value family holiday.

St Julians, a fishing village, later turned to a summer residence for wealthy locals and now developed into one of the Island's mostly fetched resorts for night life and entertainment, especially for the youngsters and the middle aged. Within walking distance to Paceville, this village still retains some of it's old dwellings and boat houses. The small bay still shelters numerous coloured Maltese boats that are berthed here all year long. St. Julians derives it's name from the Patron Saint of hunters. St. Julians is a village for all ages and walks of life. The young at heart will enjoy nearby Paceville - this locality offers much to tourists looking for nightlife entertainment, including discos, bars , Casino , restaurants and other entertainment. Paceville/St.George's Bay is very much a resort area, and has the largest concentration of restaurants ,bars and clubs in Malta. Car Hire is recommended but Public Transport is nearby .All amenities can be reached within 5 minutes drive.

Located in a prime area of this prestigious quiet location of High Ridge near St.Julians, our villa offers the perfect setting for exploring the central and Northern part of Malta. The Villa itself sits facing stunning views of the Mediterrean blue sea. For those more adventurous is a perfect setting for outdoor activities including hiking, horse riding and biking. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing in St.George's Bay Paceville. There is also golf course within 30 minutes drive. The towns of Sliema, St.George's Bay, Paceville, Valletta capital city are within easy reach and are great for shopping and entertainment. Valletta is packed with museums and art galleries. Splash N,Fun Park, a family Park is within 10 minutes drive from property.
