Blue flag beaches 2 mins away on foot. Marina and sailing club, beach bars June to Sept with many good restaurants within walking distance. Several championship golf courses with 1hrs drive including El saler and El Bosque ( Valencia) and La sella ( Denia), Oliva Nova golf complex just 10 mins away. Easy access to Denia & Javea and Altea to the south and the water park at Benidorm. On the North Costa Blanca coast at the Southern most point of the Valencia region ( Costa Azahar) The orange blossom coast with beautiful citrus orchards and Almond trees. With the backdrop of the Valencia mountain range and the best clean fine sandy beaches in Spain. Oliva town is a typical Spanish town steeped in history with several classic blue domed churches and white walled streets. Just 3 km away at the beach front Oliva playa has bars restaurants and ice cream parlours. Traditional sea food and rice dishes as well as tapas and a beach front pizza restaurant. Regular weekly market and local fresh produce. Local shop within easy walk and various other supermarkets within a 5 min drive. Beach is safe and has life guards patrolling in the high season. No jelly fish but the sea is clean and warm. The local Marina ( 20 mins on foot) has restaurant and charter facilities. Easy access to the Jalon valley for cooler air and walking or cycling, horse riding. Ferry to Ibiza from Denia

On site help: Help is available from local english speaking property manager in case of emergency. All gas and electricity included but sadly the pool is not heated. ( Yet!) Excellent train service to Valencia from Gandia, local bus to and from Oliva town to the beach, excellent shopping in Gandia at the new shopping centre and a new mall opening in Denia in 2008/9. Local taxis available.

Directions: Directions will be provided by email or in writing with the keys.

Flights: Easy jet fly to Alicante and to Valencia as do Click Air Ryan air and Iberia. Thomson and Jet 2 also fliy from UK airports to Valencia or Alicante.

Other Activities: Go karting, mini golf, kite surfing, camping, volleyball courts on beach.

The villa is nearly perfectly located, at the same time close to everything (including the beach) and quiet, which may be a kind of miracle in this area.
As someone else aid previously, the pool is much bigger than it seems, the whole family (5 persons) was using it easily. Everything is clean and easy to use thanks to little notes everywhere, the beds are really good.
We really enjoyed the stay, and we'll probably go back there.

Unfortunately we arrived in Oliva just prior to the beginning of the worst September weather in 138 years!... and a small earthquake to boot! However after the storms cleared and the sun decided to make a return, we enjoyed the stay at Carrer del Fartet, and it sufficed as a good base for a late summer break
The villa is as described very close to the beach and a handful of restaurants, but some were closed mainly I think due to the weather.
The pool is fantastic! and the kids loved it. The sun shines on the pool in the afternoon at that time of year, so it's good to visit the beach am, have a lazy lunch maybe at Kiko and then recline by the pool pm!
The only complaint was not with the villa but with the river adjacent. During torrential rain, there were outlet pipes pumping into the stream constantly, which can upset the peace, but as I say, this is moan unconnected to the villa itself.
For anyone wanting to visit this region of Spain, I would definately recommend the villa.
As a tip, other than Oliva with it's more basic Spanish charm, I would also suggest definately visiting Gandia Playa a short drive north, for the superb 'manicured' beaches if that's of interest
Also Forna slightly inland is a beautiful small village nestled beneath a medieval castle. Unfortunately the few restaurants there seemed to be closed when we drove there. But from memory I think in the Summer it comes alive!

No 9 is ideally located in the middle of Oliva's Ptaja Blanca, close to shops, restaurants and beach but in a quiet cul de sac. Position alone recommends it. The house is well equipped and the pool good. If I had to carp it would be about condition. Creaky doors and some which do not open are unexpected in a rental at this sort of price level. It could do with an update in decoration, terrace tiling, and shading too. The air conditioning is a must in the climate but the machines are creaky. Having said all of which, Nigel, Liam, Zosia and the pool cleaning brigade were very friendly, helpful and efficient - even when the washing machine let us down.
Owner's Response: We have noted your comments and indeed we are in the process of attending to some of the decor issues. The villa will be completly refreshed at the end of this season. Your feedback is always welcome. We aim to provide a comfortable holiday residence suitable for a beach location that families can use without fear of breaking a "ming vase" and so to that extent the furnishings and decor will remain clean, comfortable but functional rather than luxurious. A new washing machine has been installed.

Overall a lovely villa!

7 of us stayed in the villa in August 2008. It is very spacious and clean, and well equipped! The pool is alot bigger than it looks in the photos, the kids were never out of it!
It is located 5 minute walk to beach and there are a few bars and restaurants 5/10 min walk. We eat in La Soqueta on the last night, but didnt take the kids! Its quite expensive but lovely food!
The beaches here are so empty, even in August, so it is a lovely peaceful holiday, we hardly heard any english people!
Owner's Response: It is pleasing to see that our villa is enjoyed. Oliva is a very Spanish town and for this reason we love it. Not having many english can have its advantages and the spanish tend to go out to eat late. Restaurants often get busy arround 10pm. The beaches are beautiful at any time of the year and can be busy in August but otherwise there is plenty of room to walk, swim, play volley ball or just laze.

So near and so good!

We really enjoyed this villa which is in a terrific location with such easy access to the beach, bars and restaurants. Its kitchen is really well equipped for when you want to eat and BBQ at home and the sun lounge at the front was ideal for chilling out with a glass of wine and a good book. Bathrooms are clean, modern and the whole place was well maintained. The pool is a good size and depth and great for cooling off as the weather was excellent during our stay (the air conditioned bedrooms were a boon!). We flew into Valencia, spent a few days there and then caught the train to nearby Gandia which is a short cab ride away. We really enjoyed Oliva as it is still very Spanish, has a good market and some excellent restaurants. Definitely recommended!
