Why don't we offer online payment? We would love to, but HomeAway only allow this from some countries. Since we live in Norway, we are not given the opportunity. We have several times asked HomeAway to change this, but so far with no results. We apologize for this inconvenience, but guarantee that your payment is safe. We offer payments to bankaccounts in the Uk, Norway and Italy, as well as PayPal. It is also possible to pay cash upon arrival. We are also listed on other sites with online payment avaliable also for us, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like some more information!
Our guests so far have loved our apartment, where you can experience the real Venice. Ca Eufemia is a modern top floor flat with stunning views across Canale Giudecca towards Piazza San Marco. Situated a few steps from the Palanca vaporetto station you can enjoy peace and quiet and explore authentic Venetian life, while being only minutes away from all the main tourist attractions: The vaporetto takes you to Accademia in two minutes, to Piazza San Marco in 10 and to Lido's great beaches in 20 minutes.
All rooms offer fabulous sea views. The apartment has a combined kitchen and living room with exposed beams, a comfortable lounge, a dining area seating 6 people and a well equipped kitchen. There is a flat screen TV (Italian channels), DVD/Blue ray, CD player, docking station for ipod/iphone (not iphone 5) and free Wifi throughout the apartment. We also have a very good selection of books and films. The books are both fiction and non fiction, among them several books on Venetian history, architecture and art, guide books and maps.
The main bedroom has a double bed, wardrobes and a desk with a stunning view across beautiful terracotta roofs towards the dome of the Redentore church and Canale Giudecca. The smaller bedroom has a sofa bed that easily turns into a double or two single beds.
All the furniture is new, held in a modern Scandinavian style, except for some few antique pieces from Venice. On the walls you will find contemporary art by both British, Scandinavian and Italian artists with Venetian motives, mixed with historic prints.
In Ca´Eufemia you can escape from the crowds - a perfect place to relax!
At Giudecca, you can still experience the authentic Venice. Back in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance Giudecca was the garden of Venice. Some of the nobles had their palaces here, but the rest was gardens, orchards and monasteries. In the 19th century Giudecca was industrialized and a lot of craft shops and factories were set up. In the late 20th century the area was rather run down before a gentrification process started in the 1990s and the seemingly genuine and charming Giudecca we know today became a reality.
Exploring Giudecca is exciting, a mix of medieval and later palaces, industrial history, and very modern blocks of flats, where people like Elton John have their holiday apartments (no, we haven’t met him. Yet).
Do as the locals and take a stroll up or down the fundamenta, and you will find the very best bakeries, butchers, bars, restaurants and cafes. Within minutes you can choose between several restaurants, from the cheaper local trattorias to the legendary Cipriani, Harry's Bar Dolce or the Hilton hotel Mulino Stucky.
200 meters walk from our flat you have a Coop, where you can buy all the groceries and fresh meat and vegetables you need. We have of course a 'carello' - a trolley - that all Venetian households have so that you easily can get your purchases back to the flat.

Interested in a tour-guide?
We are in touch with a local guide who lives at Giudecca. She offers tailor-made walks at Giudecca or in other parts of Venice in fluent English, Italian or Norwegian. Her specialities are within culture and the hidden treasures of the area. Let us know if you are interested - dependent upon availability.
Interested in a local chef?
We can put you in touch with two local chefs that cater for down to only one person - brought to the apartment. They use local ingredients of high quality, all organic. Perfect when you don't feel like going out and don't want to cook either... Dependent on availability.

About Ingeborg Dybvig
Oddbjørn is an art historian specialized in cultural heritage and Ingeborg is a communicator and novelist. Venice has been our favorite city since we first visited 30 years ago. Since then we have come back regularly, and buying a property was a dream come true.
Ca´ Eufemia is our personal holiday home and we stay several times throughout the year. Every time, this magical city gives us inspiration and boosts our creativity and the apartment is a safe, relaxing and comfortable haven.
Even though we know the city very well, we still discover new places and hidden gems. We are more than happy to share this knowledge with our guests.
Ingeborg Dybvig purchased this apartment in 2011
Why Ingeborg Dybvig chose Isle Giudecca
We viewed several properties, both on the Giudecca and in other areas of the city. But when we came across this one, we knew we had found the right place: The view is stunning and not easy to find elsewhere, the apartment is full of light and air and last but not least - the unique combination of being tucked away on the authentic Giudecca island and still only minutes away from the famous sites made the choice easy. We also enjoy the fact that it is not situated in a gated holiday resort, but in a building where Italians live.
What makes this apartment unique
Stunning views, lots of light, the ´real´ authentic Venice - away from the tourist crowds but still close to everything.
Guestbook comments from the owner
This place can be highly recommended - it has all you can ask for for a comfortable housing (wifi, washing machine, tv/dvd, nice & new beds etc. etc.). The flat is only a few steps from a boat stop with a view over the water and the city. We can highly recommend it and will definitely be back!
