The Masia is set in its own land on the outskirts of the village, and is the smaller part of a very large house, the rest of which is due for restoration in the future and is rarely occupied. The house has been restored over the years and still has its wonderful original cellar, and some beautiful traditional features, with large windows letting in lots of light and making the most of the view. It has a practical kitchen, comfortable sitting room with large open fire, a big dining room and spacious upstairs games room. There are five bedrooms, two of which are en suite. There is a fenced terrace with a wonderful view, and big stone built barbecue. The swimming pool is set in the garden away from the house so small children can be kept safely close to the house on the enclosed terrace area, older children have the benefit of 3 hectares of fields and woodland to explore within the grounds of the house, and the whole of the Gavarres Natural Park to explore right on the doorstep.
The Masia is located on the outskirts of the beautiful hilltop medieval village of Romanya de la Selva, within the Gavarres natural park, with wonderful views. Romanya is a small quiet village but has two very good restaurants, and the area is very popular with walkers, cyclists (both road and mountain) and golfers (nearest course 3kms away).
The rolling hills of the Gavarres are the gateway to the Costa Brava, rightfully famous for its breathtakingly beautiful coastline. Wide beaches of golden sand and crystal clear waters alternate with little coves backed by sheer pine covered cliffs. The interior is every bit as stunning as the coast, with beautifully preserved medieval villages in Mediterranean landscapes.
The nearest beaches are 15kms away at S Ágaro and Sant Feliu de Guixols and Platja dÁro, all offer boat hire, all types of water sports, and scuba diving. The beautiful medieval city of Girona is 20kms away and the airport at Girona 20kms. The area is well know for its fabulous beaches and wonderful countryside. The Dali museums are within an hours drive, and Barcelona 1 hour away by car or train. The nearest town is Llagostera, which is 10 minutes by car which has bars, restaurants, cash machines, medical centre and a large supermarket and petrol station. The lively resort of Platja D'Aro is 20 minutes drive along the coast and has shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, amusement parks, a long beach with summer water sports in abundance.
