Pago del Humo is a ten minute drive from Chiclana de la Frontera - which has all the facilities of a traditional working Spanish town. Cadiz is only half an hour by car, where it is a delight to wander through the narrow streets of the ancient walled city. Jerez - famous for its sherry bodegas and equestrian school is forty minutes by car, and Seville an hour and a half. All three cities can be reached by train from San Fernando - a twenty minute drive. The beach at La Barrosa extends for 8 km towards Conil in the south. There are water sports at Sancti Petri. The white hilltop towns of Vejer, Medina Sidonia and Arcos are all within striking distance. Gibraltar is a hour and a half drive, or you can head for Tarifa which overlooks Africa and from where you catch the ferry for a tour of Tangiers. There are spectacular Roman ruins at Bolonia and cave paintings near Benalup. For golfers there is a wide and varied choice of courses within a short drive from Chiclana
