Stunning villa in Lapta with private pool, large garden area & fantastic views

The villa is situated in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of the old mountain village of Lapta. Built on a ravine, the villa stands in an elevated position with views of the sea and the mountains. The gardens contain established shrubs and trees, a fledgling orchard with trees now bearing oranges, lemons, mandarins and grapefruit. The overflow pool measures 8m x 4m with inbuilt steps leading to the shallow end, and side mounted steps down to the deeper end. There is an outside shower located by the pool and a barbeque. There is also a large gazebo in the garden. Four bedrooms ( the ground floor one has a safe) are all air conditioned, each has it's own shower room & toilet. There is also a seperate toilet downstairs. The living room, dining room & kitchen all open out to the patio leading to the pool and gardens. The gated drive is big enough for 2 cars. Beaches, restaurants and bars are within a short distance. Picturesque Kyrenia Harbour is approximately 15 mins drive.

There is an information folder inside the villa providing a wealth of local information and maps that you can take out with you to help you readily find your way back to the villa. Or show one to the restaurants or takeaways to make delivery easier. There's an abundance of well stocked supermarkets selling local produce as well as more familiar groceries, plenty of bakeries and pharmacies. The language is Turkish but English is widely spoken & understood. The currency is Turkish Lira but Euros and GB£'s are also accepted in restaurants, bars and shops with a fair rate of exchange - any change is usually given in Turkish Lira. There are plenty of banks and ATM's. You tend to get a better rate for your money at the local exchange venues. The nearest to the villa is a short drive along the main strip opposite Greens garage which is on the left hand side of the road as you're driving towards Kyrenia. There's a gym along the main strip and also cycle hire shop. There are plenty of beaches locally including our favourite - Escape Beach which has everything you could possibly need. There is a small fee but it's worth it. Top tip, it gets very busy at weekends! In addition, all of the hotels and holiday clubs have facilities that are open to the public for a daily fee which usually includes lunch.

There are some lovely , pretty villages around which should be visited if you can manage to tear yourself away from the pool. Lapta itself & Alsancak locally are traditional old villages and have good restaurants. Higher up the mountain, Karaman is gorgeous and has a couple of bars and restaurants. Kyrenia ( Girne) has it's pretty horseshoe shaped harbour and twinkling lights and is a great place just to sit and people watch or is a good starting point to wander the narrow streets. There's an old abbey in Bellapais well worth a visit - Bellapais is an old village with the 'Tree of Idleness' written of by the famous author Lawrence Durrell in 'Bitter Lemons'. A journey to the top of St Hilarion Castle should not be missed - though not during very hot sunshine. There is so much to see and do!!

Flights can be into Ercan in the North with a touchdown in Turkey, or into Larnaca in the South and we can help arrange transfers from either airport and can also assist with car hire. Ercan is approx 40mins away; Larnaca about 75mins. There's no visa requirement if flying into the North, but a visa is necessary at the border if flying into Larnaca. There is no fee for this, your passport is produced and a white form is stamped and given to you. Whichever way you choose to fly, there are no difficulties but we can help with transfers to make it easier for you.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (British Pound) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • The rental price is for the property for a up to a maximum of 8 people. Please ask for a quote if there are addtional guests to be included. The prices are per week but we can provide a quote if extra nights are required. There is a non refundable deposit of 20% per booking payable within 7 days of the booking which can be paid by cheque or bank transfer. Once we are in receipt of clear funds, the booking will be confirmed by email. The final balance must be paid no less than 6 weeks prior to the holiday. In addition, once the booking is confirmed, a refundable bond of £200 is payable within 7 days against damage/breakages and over use of electricity. The rental price includes 30 units of electricity per day which is ample in the summer months for air conditioning and for heating in the winter months ( the air conditioning units are also heaters). Any additional units used will be charged at £0.30p per unit. Our manager will take a reading at the start and end of the rental period.
  • The cost of any additional electricity and/or damage will be deducted from the security bond and the balance will be repaid to you within a few days of your departure.

    A welcome pack & the services of our manager are included in the price.

    Please also note that we have a gardener and pool cleaner who attend regularly. They are not intrusive but are necessary. If you prefer them to come at different times to their 'norm' it would be appreciated if you could let our manager know! His details are in the information folder in the villa.

    There are outdoor seating and beds available.
  • Ercan is North Cyprus's international airport with flights from Manchester, Birmingham, Heathrow & Stansted - either direct with a short touchdown or a change of plane in Turkey, Transfer from Ercan to the villa is usually free if you are booking a car from the same company. Otherwise, a taxi is about £30 but always ask a price first at the airport. There are more available flights into Larnaca and we can assist with transfers . The cost of transfer from Larnaca is not included by the car companies and is usually £50 each way per car/minibus. We believe that car hire is essential for at least part of your holiday, if not all of it. Driving around is easy and on the left ( which is a bonus)
    The climate is excellent with over 300 days of sunshine a year with temperatures rarely dropping below 70F from May to September. It is cooler in the winter and it can rain, but is still very pleasant. Springtime is superb with the scent of new fragrant flowers permeating the air.

This is a wonderful villa in a beautiful location. We stayed with friends and children
- everything was as described and more. Due to the time of year, whilst the pool looked inviting we resisted the urge to jump in ...... The same can't be said for the lemons on the trees - what a treat to be able to pick fresh lemons to slice for the G&T's and Cokes!

A car is a must for driving around.

The owners were extremely helpful and friendly throughout. There's a large folder in the villa containing a wealth of recommendations and information. A good idea if you're ordering takeaways is to take a map out to show where the villa is located.

Can't speak too highly of this property and would thoroughly recommend it!

A very comfortable and excellently equipped Villa

We have just returned from a fortnight at this Villa with the family. There were 8 of us in total. The Villa is fab! All bedrooms have air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. It is very well equipped and decorated to a high standard.

It is in an a lovely location with excellent views of the mountains and sea and not far from beaches, restaurants, or amenities. A great pool, and owners & management team which were a pleasure dealing with. Would happily recommend this Villa to all!

FABULOUS villa - Highly recommend!

Myself, my husband & our 3 children spent 10 days in this villa in Kyrenia in Aug 2010.

The villa is absolutely beautiful. It's immaculate & exceptionally maintained. Everything you need for a family is catered for.

The pool is fab & very spacious, the children were in it every possible minute!

The gardens and views from the villa are absolutely breathtaking!

We enjoyed our stay so much, that we went back in August 2011 for 2 weeks! Friends also joined us and they also fell in love with Kyrenia & the villa.

The owner's information on the villa & Kyrenia was spot on!

I would highly recommend this villa to anyone thinking of a holiday in Kyrenia.

A car is recommended for your stay to get around & explore the many restaurants & places to visit. The harbour at night & Escape beach are a must to visit.

We intend to return in the future ourselves and we will definitely be staying here again.

Wonderful Lapta Villa (Kyrenia)

My husband 3 children (5 10 & 13) along with Grandparents stayed for a wonderful 2 weeks in Kyrenia during August 2011. The villa is absolutely FANTASTIC! Its spacious and extremely well laid out with every facility catered for.The pool is a delight which the children never tired of.

The information provided by the owner was outstanding and there is a handy book in the villa which gives great tips for places to eat ,drink and visit. Escape beach is close by and well worth a visit.

A car is a must to be able to get around the area,its very quiet and peaceful with fantastic views over the bay.

I would not hesitate in recommending this villa,and we cant wait to return!!
