Casa Peregil is located in the Burga valley which lies in between the villages of El Perello and Rasquera. El Perelló, just a 15 minute drive, is a traditional Catalan village famous for it´s honey production, where you will find all amenities such as supermarkets, banks, clinic as well as local shops , bars and restaurants. Just a short drive south will bring you to L´Ampolla with it´s two sandy beaches and lovely marina. L´Ampolla is a perfect place to sample the local cuisine while watching the fishing boats come in the evening. Close by is the Ebro delta national park, perfect for wildlife lovers. A short drive in the other direction will bring you to L´Ametlla de Mar which is another small resort. These two towns have direct rail links to both Barcelona and Valencia, two cities well worth a look for the keen shoppers and sightseers.
The holiday resort of Salou is just a 30 minute drive where you can enjoy the delights of Port Aventura theme park and water park. If you want to stay local there are plenty of activities such as Cat fishing on the river Ebro, kayaking, water skiing or a quiet round of golf at the new 18 hole course close to L´Ampolla. Alternatively just take a drive along the coast and discover the many hidden coves and beaches. Head inland from casa PerezGil and you will come to the river Ebro, the largest river in Spain, the traditional village of Miravet is well worth a visit, cross the river on the car ferry and take a walk up to the old Moorish castle which overlooks the village.
