The historic town of Kalkan is situated on Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast and was once a simple Turkish/Greek fishing village. It is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the ancient landmarks of the Lycian Way and the medieval towns of the Taurus Mountains or to visit the beautiful unspoiled coastline at Patara Beech where white sands stretch for over 8 miles & turtles come to nest. Today's Kalkan is still quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants, mainly looking out over the beautiful harbour, offering all manner of culinary delights to cater for any budgets, together with a good selection of stylish and atmospheric blues and jazz bars. The villa is well located close to the town school so it is not off the beaten track, it is close enough for an easy stroll into town and by the market, but you may prefer to taxi back as the teraine in Kalkan is hilly there are still many dirt track roads.

  • Included in the rates: Utilities, Weekly cleaning, linen and towel change - We do provide a pool towel which can be laundered during your stay or you may choose to bring own beach towels.
    Welcome pack included to ensure the essentials are with you upon arrival (bread, water cheese, tea, milk etc) to refresh you after your journey.
    You can make an initial reservation by telephone or e-mail; this will be held for 7 days. Please print off and sign the booking form and return it within 7 days with a deposit of 25% of the total rental to secure your booking. THE DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION. PLease ensure holiday insurance is obtained at the point of booking. We will confirm the booking in writing as soon as possible after receiving your booking form and deposit. Only on receipt of this confirmation by you will the booking be treated as confirmed. Full payment of the balance must be made 8 weeks before departure.
  • The Villa is suitable for children it has a lot of space and private pool . Please note - it is normal in Turkey for pools to have no shallow end, so non swimmers should be accompanied at all times around the pool For very young children, paddling pools are available cheaply from the local shop & can be placed in the garden & filled daily.
    The villa is also ideal for sharers with large communal areas & also many private areas for those who may need their own space from time to time.
    There is a non smoking policy inside the villa but there are places to smoke outside on the terrace.
    The villa is cleaned with linen changed once a week.
    The location of the Villa (near to the local school) is quite central a 10 minute stroll into the centre of town, but car is advisable if you wish to explore the area. Alternatively a leisurely downhill walk into the village then a return taxi can be used, these are very reasonably priced. Many beach clubs also offer collection/return.
  • Security deposit - A £250 security deposit must be paid with the final balance payment to cover any breakages damages or incurance of extra cleaning. This will be returned to you within 2 weeks of your return, less any appropriate deductions.

  • All bath and shower rooms have been tiled throughout and have modern fixtures and fittings. There is an automatic washing machine with instructions for use located in the top floor shower room adjacent to the roof top room and a clothes horse & drying lines are available on the roof terrace. Bath and hand towels are provided and these are changed during your stay we also provide a pool towels for your use and this can be washed as necessary during your stay.

  • Each bedroom is air conditioned and has been tastefully furnished with local furniture, the cooling ceramic flooring and soft furnishing gives an air or tranquility to these rooms. Bedrooms all contain a hair dryers and they are fitted with a safe for your security.. Bedroom 1 is located on the ground floor and has its own wet room. There are French doors opening out to a seated area. The master bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms on the first floor all have private balconies with fantastic sea views. The Large 5th bedroom is located on the 3rd floor and can be configured as a twin or large double. It has a large adjoining wet room which also houses a laundry area with automatic washing machine, iron & ironing board. Access to roof terrace. 2 of the twin rooms can be configured as twins or King size doubles. A cot can be easily accommodated in the master bedroom or bedroom 5 without compromising space.

Notes: The open plan design of the living space in this villa works extremely well. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need although the restaurants are all so excellent (with some delivering to the Villa) you may need some persuading to cook! A BBQ is also available There is a supermarket close by. A daily market of fruit, Veg & fish takes place in the village. The Villa is also located near to the weekly market place, The living area has panoramic views of Kalkan. There are two lovely comfy sofas and plenty of space to sit and listen to music (please bring your IPOD's as there is a connection cable to the system. You can watch DVD's on the TV there are a selection available in Villa or easily & cheaply purchased locally). There is no SKY/internet connection these can be accessed in town There is a pay as you go local mobile phone programmed with useful numbers, enabling you to call locally

Flights to Dalaman or Antalyiia: Charter Flights to Dalaman are available from most UK airports. see travelsupermarket.com or similar for availability and rates. Schedule flights from British Airways and other European cities often fly into Antalyia - which has a longer transfer time. £10.00 entry visa's are obtained when landed, they are valid for 3 months.

Transfer: The Transfer time from Dalaman to Kalkan is approx 2 hours, we can supply the name of the transfer company we use, and you can book your transfers directly with them.

Fantastic villa. Brilliant location. Great Pool. Absolutely amazing views. Perfect holiday. And thanks to Libby for recommending the trout farm restaurant, boat trip, and beach club days out... we've re-booked for this summer. Can't wait.

Absolute bliss

We went to stay in Villa Iskander in the 2nd week of September and I can not rate it highly enough. We had a mixed group of 20 something year olds and 50 somethings, and the villa suited both groups equally well. The bedrooms are all very spacious with air condiitoning and have a very stylish feel to them. It was great to have the 3 diferent outside areas (roof top terrace, balcony & pool side) to suit all - and to provide some shade in the heat of the day. The owners of the villa have provided everything you would need - from stereo player with ipod connection, to board games.

Kalkan as a resort was lovely - nice shops, excellent restaurants, friendly people, and close to Patara beach and the mountains. I highly recommend a trip on a boat for the day as well as a trip up the mountains to one of the family run trout farms. There are also ancient greek ruins next to Patara beach which are in a remarkable state and well worth a look.

I couldn't recommend the villa or Kalkan more highly to anyone - so much so, a group of us are already planning to go back next year.

Perfect location to enjoy lovely Kalkan

Villa Iskender is a lovely villa with everything you need for a truly relaxing holiday - the air conditioning in every room was a God-send in hot and sometimes humid August! It is very quiet, great for chilling out. The kids loved the pool (no shallow end so not ideal for non-swimmers), which is topped up and cleaned every day. It's a short (steep) downhill walk into town and a cheap taxi ride back, which we found essential after sampling the delights of Kalkan's numerous excellent restaurants and bars! Best meal out was at Trio on the harbour front, poshest bar was Gironda, best day out was the gullet trip on the Yildiz 2 - fantastic, truly memorable day with delicious food freshly prepared on the boat! Enjoyed the Kalamar Beach Club but watch out for pricey drinks there - good for snorkelling and scuba diving. And don't forget the great shopping in Kalkan itself, leave room in your case for some extra goodies to bring back. We arranged our transfers with the villa owners which made getting to and from the airport easy, and we used the information provided about restaurants and bars to ensure we never had a bad meal. We felt a bit like locals! The kids didn't need to use the tv or Xbox in the villa as the weather was so good but we did make use of the music system to play CDs and iPods. All in all, we would recommend going to Kalkan and Villa Iskender to our friends for a fantastic holiday.

We went to Kalkan with great expectations - and we were not disappointed! The villa is perfect for sharing between 2 families (we were 4 adults and six children). The walking distance down to the harbour is nice and we actually managed to walk "all the way back home too..." It only takes about 20 mins. The view is fantastic from the villa and there is a peaceful atmosphere when just relaxing by the pool which is just big enough for 2 families going on holiday together! We were taken good care of at Doy Doy and Sandels restaurants down in Kalkan. They provided great service and good food. Our best recommendations to Villa Iskender and Kalkan - Do go on a boat-trip with swimming off the boat and then lunch on board!! Forgot to mention that!!

Great place to share with friends. Lots of space to be together to chat or relax but easy to have total privacy too! Many of the group were American & all commented on the amazing service we received everywhere we went. Nobody can do enough for you... we stopped for a night cap at midnight (when the shops close!), & a friend commented on the fact she fancied some turkish delight - the barman dissapeared on his moped for 10 minutes & returned with a selection to go with our drinks - totally complimentary!! I can't recommend this place or this villa higly enough - Just go & see for yourself.
