Guestbook comments from the owner
We are really happy with our vacation in Sardinia, and found Bosa and the valleys and villages beyond very charming and welcoming. The local food and wine was excellent. The best mussels and spaghetti mongole in Sardinia did we enjoy at the restaurant at Piazza Costituzione in the old town of Bosa. The best white wine with the local Torbato grape was the Terre Bianche from the Sella & Mosca winery - it was just amazing, and very affordable.

The kids enjoyed the small beach just down from the villa, with the corals it was excellent for snorkeling. One of the days, we all enjoyed really huge waves at the beach of Porto Alabe. We just had to be cautious for the rips. We all really enjoyed Casa Bianca, it was clean, fresh, modern and very convenient for 2 families of total 10 people. We enjoyed both the amazing sunset and the moon drop (1 night) from the terrace.

During our stay in Sardinia we visited Stintino, Alghero, Bosa and Porto Servo (on the north east coast). We fancied Bosa most, with the dramatic landscape surrounding the old town, and the cozy valleys and villages beyond, in combination with great beaches.

I hope we can visit Sardinia and Bosa sometime in the near future again.

I live with my husband John and we are both now retired. We bought this property with our son Steven and have had many fantastic holidays there, though mostly we spend our time working to make it beautiful for our guests. I take great pride in the reviews we have obtained over the years from well satisfied and rested families. We have never had a bad review. We look at all our comments in the guest book and do our best to make sure the remarks are acted upon. We quite often have returning guests which we we are immensely proud of. I always say that one week in Casa Bianca is like a month elsewhere. The pace of life and the friendliness is so brilliant.

Owner purchased this villa in 2006

Casa Bianca is nestled on the side of the hill in a pretty village Porto Alabe, and overlooks the sea. There is so much space in the house, even a full party of 10 plus 2 children stll allows solitary time if you want it. We pride ourselves on the quality of the furnishings and the linen, and have some beautiful pictures painted for us by one of our local artists. Our kitchen has been applauded by chefs and amateurs alike for all the equipment, but we are selfish there because the kitchen looks out over the ocean, who wouldn't want to prepare fantastic dishes to eat on our terrrace, especially at sunset, one of the most gorgeous times of the day.

Sardinia is an island of opposites. Warm tranquil seas and beaches, green lush forests and hills, and many paths to explore. You really can get away from it all here, and even find a beach with only a few people on it. And when you return to Casa Bianca after a day exploring the island , sit on our terrrace and enjoy a glass of our fantastic Sardinian wine and watch the sunsets. Quite honestly you will have a hard job to beat them.

Vacation in Paradise at Casa Bianca!

  • 5 of 5
We are a group of 5 (or more) people who do a joint trip each year to locations with historical interest and good wineries. Sardinia (Sardegna) is a fabulous island with great history, great food and wine and marvelously friendly people - plus gorgeous scenery and good beaches. Casa Bianca is not on the Costa Smeralda, which did not bother us. The west coast is lovely. The view from Casa Bianca is stunning, especially at sunset. The house is very well set up for larger groups like ours where we need 4 or 5 bedrooms, depending who comes. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the outdoor porch and barbecue every evening for wine parties. The house was clean when we arrived. The trash pick-up system on the island is a bit erratic, but that is not something that Casa Bianca can control. Across the street is a very nice beach you can easily walk to (no parking issues). Just north a few km is Bosa Marina with a very good beach and excellent resturants. The cities of Bosa and Alghero are very nice. Alghero's historic water-front is interesting. We visited two excellent wineries: Gostolai in Oliena and Capichera in Arzachena. Restaurants were excellent: La Colonia (Bosa Marina), La Villa Pedras Longas (Rte 292 north of San Catarina di Pittinuri - km 95.5), La Scogliera (Santa Catarina di Pittinuri), and Su Gologone (Oliena). I highly recommend Casa Bianca and a holiday in Sardinia!

Owner's Response: George and Elena and their party are rarely in the same country for long, and since starting to talk to them about renting our house in the early part of the year, I was concerned that the house and its position on the island may not suit their needs after all. After their stay in Casa Bianca I am thrilled that they enjoyed it so much, it is such a lovely house and the sunsets are beyond belief. They have seen a lot of our part of the island, it is maybe not the Costa Smerelda, thank heavens as far as we are concerned, but the people are so friendly and the views are every bit as good as any other part of the island. This year we have a few of our previous guests returning, something we are very proud of, and we consider that is proof that Casa Bianca and Sardinia call you back once you have visited. I have said it many times; one week in Casa Bianca is like four elsewhere.

Owner's Response: That makes us happy. It really is a lovely house and very private, and of course we are prejudiced, we realise how lucky we are to own this house. It is very early in the season and the local countryside is just burstine into life, but the holiday makers are not really here yet so it is the perfect time to enjoy some rest and relaxation, and of course the odd bottle of wine on the terrace to appreciate the sunsets.

Peace and Serenity

  • 5 of 5
Casa Bianca is the perfect home to "get away from it all." It is a place to go when you want to hear the sea at night and read a good book on the beach or on the terrace. It is fantastic for a great BBQ while watching the sun set. The property was clean and the owner provided good customer service. I would definitely recommend this home to a friend (but not to friends who like to go out a lot as there is not that much to do beyond relax). It is perfect for families with children who love the beach.

Casa Bianca was well equipped. We did not lack for anything.

We enjoyed going to Bosa's Tuesday markets. Having a drink at sunset or a coffee after picking up the day's groceries at the last little bar on the beach on the drive towards the house was always a treat. Our favorite restaurant in Bosa was Sa Pischedda. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Before you know it, they will be plying you with delicious after-dinner drinks. Sitting outside in their garden when the weather is nice is magical, but it is also beautiful to sit inside when outside is too cool. The food was fresh and delicious (not something that can be said for many of the touristy beach restaurants in Bosa Marina). We also had a great meal in the cozy restaurant called Sa Cariasa, which has moved from up in the hills into Bosa proper.

We bought some lovely jewlery at Vadilonga and some of the other shops in Bosa. Besides that, there isn't much shopping in the town.

We had a great day at Is Arutas, the wonderful quartz beach on the way to Oristano. It is worth exploring the little beachs on the way to Is Arutas as they are beautiful as well. Oristano is worth a drive if you want better shopping.

The drive to Alghero was breath-taking. Be careful driving though--we saw three wild boars at the side of the road on our way home one night! We had one of the best meals of our stay at a place on the water in Alghero called The Kings. With some exceptions, the food is much better in Alghero. It is much more crowed than Bosa though. Staying at Casa Bianca is a great homebase to relax and expore some of the more unknown parts of Sardina. We are ready to go back tomorrow!

Owner's Response: this family came a very great distance to be in our house, and also came with a recommendation from a former guest.I can understand that it was considered by them to be quiet with it being the end of our season, very early by the side of our season in Britain, as Sardinia is such a laid back island and at the end of August it returns to its marvellous way of life, so this is the time to go if you just want R and R. If you look at our list of things to do you will see that within a reasonable distance of our house there is something for most families to do, and the journeys to all these sites will be without traffic so thoroughly enjoyable. If there is an activity that your family particularly enjoy please contact us and we will do our best to find where you can enjoy it. We are always willing to help and answer your questions so that when you travel to Casa Bianca you will have a good holiday.

Family Holiday

Excellent quiete property with complete equipment and amazing view.
Great atmosphere and very supportive owner. The children enjoyed the space and the beaches close to the property. We enjoyed the outside barbecues as well as being inside. The only thing we missed a bit, was an internet connection.
We would very much like to come back!

Owner's Response: These guests came to our home in the early part of the season, one of the prettiest times of the year. The island looks amazing with all the colours of early summer. The weather is always very pleasant. Without the heat of high summer and the busy beaches it is possible to enjoy the island and our home at a leisurely pace. It is one of our favourite times of the year.

An Excellent Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5
We had a fantastic holiday on this beautiful island and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Bianca. The villa was clean with plenty of linen provided and modern amenities. The sea view and sunsets were amazing. The weather was glorious every day (a little too hot in August) and it was very relaxing to just sit outside and do nothing. We were a party of seven (four adults, three children) and there was plenty of space to accommodate us all. The outdoor table was used all the time for meals and the evening temperature meant you could comfortably sit outside for as long as you wanted. All of the bedrooms were well furnished with very welcome air conditioning. The main master suite was particularly spacious with those amazing sea views. The villa is set on a hillside with a five minute walk to a great snorkelling beach. The walk back is not for the faint-hearted in the heat of the day especially when you have to master the rather steep driveway back up to the villa! The local town of Bosa has two adequate supermarkets and lots of interesting shops - well worth a visit. We booked a snorkelling trip from Bosa Marina for just 25 euros each and had the wonderful experience of snorkelling in crystal clear waters sometimes 60 metres deep. Barbara was very efficient and helpful with our booking and we would highly recommend this villa. Overall a fantastic holiday.

Good time there

  • 5 of 5
The house is perfect. Beautiful view on the sea with the sunset. A lot of place (we were nine). The house was clean at the arrival.
You can walk to the sea from the house but if you want to reach the sand beach, it is better to take your car with no problem to park it (10 min by walk otherwise).
Bosa is the closest town from the house where you can find supermarkets and all shop for tourists !
The sea is very clear and not deep, it is perfect for snorkling (beginners). You can also dive if you go to Bosa. There are two diving centers but I recommend the one at the Bosa Marina.
You will find all information on activites, restaurants and so on, as Barabara (owner) did a booklet which give an overview of what you can find in the near of the house.
Traveling in the area is OK, we didn't meet traffic jams. There is not a lot winding roads which were appreciated by people in the rear car seats.
I recommend also that you rent a small boat to visit small and wild creeks (at the diving center). Some of them can be accessed by road if you have a four wheel drive.

To summarize, it is a rental with no bad surprise. You can go without hesitation.

Owner's Response: It is so pleasing to receive a review like this one. The guests seem to have used our home as a base and seen some of our wonderful island. They have also enjoyed what I really miss when we have guests there; the opportunity to sit and relax on the terrace until very late in the eveningwith a never to be forgotten view.
What are traffic jams? You will probably go the whole of your holiday and not see one in Porto Alabe. Bosa maybe a little more crowded.
We are still finding all these small bays and coves, there seem to be so many of them and the beaches are never what we call crowded. There really is so much to do in and around our area, and if you want to stray further you will never be short of places to discover.
Friendly people, good food and delicious wine will all make your holiday one to remember.

Alghero, which is just an hour away from the villa, Olbia and Cagliari are our airports. Shopping in Alghero,Olbia, Bosa and Sassari is both high quality and fashionable. Sightseeing, hiking and bird-watching are all within easy reach of the villa. Water sports enthusiasts are very well catered for. Fishing, diving and snorkeling is abundant in the crystal clear waters.

For the historically minded, there are a multitude of fascinating sights, medieval towns, the remains of roman villages, and many beautiful churches and cathedrals in this cultural destination. There is an abundance of restaurants and bars and many tasty dishes to try in the area. Fresh fish is a must in Bosa.

The beach is just a short walk away from our house, a small beach here with rock pools and sand too. The beach carries on into Porto Alabe intself and has many cliff walks at the end of it.

Other Activities: Bird watching.
