Exactly what we wanted and more!
Unlike many internet-marketed apartments, this apartment is exactly as wonderful as it looks in the pictures. After being stuffed into a 72 square foot (12 square meter) apartment in London for a few days that had *looked* spacious online, we literally danced around this apartment, excited by how clean, tasteful, quiet, and spacious it actually was. The pull-out bed in the sofa is easy to take in an out and allows for even more space in the apartment when it's put away. There's plenty of storage space in the closets, a nice kitchen/bar area, tons of maps and brochures to guide your visit, and a bathroom to die for.
Isabelle and her husband were also incredibly helpful during our stay. Her husband met us at the apartment at a pre-specified time and was very helpful in giving us a run-down on the apartment, wifi, elevator code, etc.
On top of all that, the apartment is located in a great part of Paris. It's a quick walk to the metro station Colonel Fabien, and within the neighborhood, there's tons of great places to eat or get a drink. La Maison, at the corner of the street, is a fun bar and restaurant that serves great French fare as well as good old hamburgers. At 10pm, tons of young people come in for food and drinks, which is not only a fun opportunity for visitors, but it also means that we felt safer walking home knowing there would be people out and about.
Around the corner the other way, on Claude Vellefaux, we found a great new bar/restaurant called Cafe Loulette, where we again got great, inexpensive French food and had a great time chatting it up with the waiter and enjoyed a round of free shots on the house.
If you wanted to branch out, there's also moroccan, japanese, and other restaurants within a couple of minutes walking from the apartment. We even passed a karaoke bar at one point, walking around the neighborhood.
All in all, this is a really great apartment for a really wonderful price. I hope to come back and make use of it again, and I will definitely recommend it to friends and family traveling to Paris!
