Found the perfect place!

To find this beautiful, carefully and with lots of love renovated old stone-house was the best thing that could possibly have happened to us on our 4 week trip to Cyprus and Crete! The house is equipped with everything you need for cooking for 4 people, the "master bedroom" upstairs is spacious, from there you come into the lovely bathroom with bathtub / shower and into the small 2-bed-bedroom for the kids.
From upstairs you have access onto the big balcony which overlooks the lovely, enclosed garden with olive trees, 2 hammocks between them, the "barbecue-in-the-wall" and the heated pool. Our kids did not want to leave it unless Tigger and Ginger, John and Sarah´s cats, came over to visit!
Downstairs is a large room with kitchen, dinning table, sofas, small TV and CD-Radio. The ambiente is absolutely lovely, old stone walls, wodden enterieur.
Most windows and doors are equipped with moskito nets or moskito-sliding doors or -roller blinds (and it´s recommandable to keep them closed!)
When I´ve finally convinced my family to actually leave the house for half a day to explore the area, there was so much to see and do close by. The Akrotiri Peninsula with the monasteries and lovely beaches; the "Lefka Ori", the white mountains (spectacular views and the entry to the Samaria Gorge, which we´ll do next time) the south coast (we´ve only visited Sougia, which should not be missed, so beautiful!! and there´s so much more there!!) We´ll do the botanic gardens of Crete when our kids are a bit older.
John´s directions to find the house where excellent, including directions to our favorite supermarket on the way to stock up on our arrival. John and Sarah, who renovated the house to let it, are lovely and willing to help with anything. They live next door with their two kids and cats and Marmite, the friendly dog, and their fish and hens... so you might get fresh eggs to welcome you! And oranges and grapefruit!
So we can recommend most warmly to book your holiday in this wonderful place, relax by the pool, especially at night to try and count the countless stars, listen to the quiet, the occasional bark of a village dog or a badly timed cock. Swing softly in the hammock in the shade of the olive trees or sun-bake in one of the comfy sunbeds around the pool, there is sunshine or shade just as you like all day!
We will certainly come back!
