Delightful Tranquil Cottage

Eugene's cottage is simply a delightful place to stay, it is located in idyllic surroundings in beautiful County Kerry (no hustle or bustle to bother you just silence). From the cottage outstanding views of Macgillycuddy Reeks and the Caha Mountains can be seen. We have stayed at this cottage for the last 9 years so you could say we are biased, but we are not, and we'll be staying again this summer.
The cottage itself is just as described in the listing; it's clean, comfortable, and well equipped with a huge open fire and night storage heaters. There is a large sun lounge with magnificent views all round. The owners are the kindest people imaginable and look after all you needs;
Eugene's is about half a mile from the Blackwater Tavern where you can top up your supplies and fuel up your vehicle, and the Guinness is very good! so call by and have a chat with the locals and listen to the music.
If you wish to eat out you have a vast choice of restaurants in nearby Kenmare and Sneem. Restaurants to suit the needs from Back Packer to Food Gourmets with prices similar to those back home. We particulary like "O'Donnabhain" in Henry Street, Kenmare and "Danny O'Shea's Bar in Sneem, and for that special occasion "The Lime Tree" in Shelbourne Street, Kenmare.
I like salmon and trout fishing, fortunately the River Blackwater runs through the cottage grounds just 150 yards away, so I'm soon in my element. The Blackwater is a spate river with fine runs of salmon and sea trout with brownies always in residence. I've caught many nice salmon there. If sea fishing is your forte you are spoiled for choice with pier, boat, and beach fishing all available in the area.
Horse riding and Pony Trekking are available at several establishments within half a mile of the cottage, The Blackwater Stables and the Eclipse Centre, the Eclipse Centre also has a range of various activities suitable for children to adults.
The cottage is ideally situated to tour the Ring of Kerry or the Beara Peninsula with dramatic views of the mountains and sea. The beaches are mainly empty of people and are quite superb, blue sea, golden sand and no litter. Try Inny Strand (beach) Waterville it's a good mile long and you can take your car on.
Eugene's Cottage is a delightful place to stay, it's in an area of outstanding beauty with magnificient views all around it.
I would certainly recommend it to members of my familly and friends.
