PERFECT LITTLE HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

  • 4 of 5
My wife and I booked this place for 4 nights and it worked out perfectly. It was exactly as shown in the pictures, all the way down to the Nespresso machine in the kitchen corner (which we used daily)!

It is on the top floor of a typical dutch home, and had everything you needed (though we only ate breakfast in). The only downside was that it was on the top floor! The stairs up are quite narrow and steep, but this is the norm in Amsterdam - not recommended for those with mobility issues.

But once in the space, the room is perfect for two. The bed was a step up, but a none issue for my wife or I.

Only negatives were it was a little dusty (so not ideal if you have very sensitive allergies), and the bed is two mattresses together to make one larger bed (so a bit of a dip in the middle). That said, it met our needs perfectly.

The owner did not meet us, but arranged for the women on the first floor to let us in. She was helpful and ensured we had towels, told us where the grocery store was, etc. We paid upfront once we arrived - interestingly, the owner took us at our word that we would show up ... no deposit required which says a lot in this day and age.

With respect to location, it's not in the trendiest area, but a very easy tram to most sites (museums, Heineken Experience, Jordaan, Central station), and a good 15 min walk to most everything else (shopping street, Remembrant Platz, trendy areas). When combining both means of transport, getting around was a breeze and we visited everywhere we wanted with ease. We didnt get bikes, but they would have made getting around a breeze!

I would recommend the place as it was fairly priced (we were there in November) and a good home base for a few days in town. If you want to be in the action, this may not be for you, but it worked out great for us!

GEMÜTLICH - RUHIG - AUCH FÜR 1 PERSON

  • 5 of 5
