If you are here on business, there is an Express bus to downtown right outside my front door. If you are visiting as a tourist and wish to experience the real San Francisco, then my apartment is the logical place, do not get ripped off in the high priced tourist restaurants, eat where the locals eat, there are many Ethnic restaurants within a few blocks, have a beer at some of the best neighborhood bars in the city. If you really want to be a tourist, take a walk to the Cliff House for dinner.

I own the building, it has 2 apartments and a retail store, the other apartment is occupied by a retired school teacher, Vladimir and his wife, they both take care of my apartment for me, so just knock on their door if you should need anything during your stay.

The neighborhood: Richmond/SeaCliff

The Richmond/Seacliff neighborhood has world-class recreation, You are within walking distance of 3 fantastic beaches, Ocean beach, China beach or Baker beach.

Golden Gate Park is only 5 blocks from the apartment. You also have a municipal golf course, Lincoln Park Golf , it is a short 6 blocks from the apartment.

The Richmond retains a neighborhood feel along its main shopping streets.

You can find Mexican, Russian, French and Italian restaurants with ease, not to mention a plethora of establishments serving food from every corner of Asia. 'Like the Outer Richmond itself, Geary calms down considerably after 25th Avenue as it meanders off into the fog and ultimately ends at the Pacific Ocean.'

Sea Cliff is dominated by Spanish architecture homes perched on the cliffs east of Golden Gate Bridge. Certainly one of the most desirable and picturesque residential areas in the U.S. Success exudes itself from any of houses, stars and theatrical types such as Robin Williams, Sharon Stone, and Carol Hayes of Hayes Productions all have homes here. The Presidio Trust sits to its east with remains of the Land's End Park and the famous Sutro Baths of 1896 to the west. The California Palace of the Legion of Honor museum built in 1924 ( inspired by the Palais de la Legion in Paris), home of Rodin's 'The Thinker', and the public golf course of Lincoln Park all share the Sea Cliff address!'

Lincoln Park: Most people know Lincoln Park for two things: The Palace of the Legion of Honor and the golf course. Fewer know about the park's easy access to Land's End and a portion of the Coastal Trail that runs about six miles along the bluff above the sea, from Baker Beach to Ocean Beach. Walkers along this path will be treated with incredible views.

Golden Gate Park:

The California Academy of Sciences Its fantastic, you have to go.

You simply must rent a boat in Stow Lake or explore the park by bike. Stow Lake Bike & Boat Rentals, 50 Stow Lake Dr.

M.H. de Young Museum.

You have all this right outside your front door and are only 15 minutes to downtown Union Square.

Muni Bus system:

If you intend to ride the cable cars, then it is cheaper to buy a bus pass, the fare on the 38 bus downtown is $2.00 and the cable cars are $6 so its better value to get a bus pass. The passes are for consecutive days.

Passports may be purchased on the Muni website or at the Airport, SFO Information Booth (Baggage Claim area)

For more information on Muni Passports, see Muni's website.

• 1-day Passport $14

• 3-day Passport $22

• 7-day Passport $28

The cheapest way to get to the apartment from SFO is a door to door Super Shuttle, it costs $18 per person one way, if there are 3 or more people then a Taxi is cheaper, about $45. You do not really need a rental car, except if you wish to see the Wine Country, I would suggest that you rent a car the last 2 days of your vacation, there is a Hertz location a few blocks away, pick the car up at the local Hertz and drop it back to the Airport, that way you save on a shuttle to the airport.

ZIPCARS: you can rent Zip cars by the hour or by the day,

There is a ZIPCAR location one block from the apt,

Please go to ZIPCAR Website for more information.

PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR AVAILABLE DATES, I ANSWER ALL EMAILS THE SAME DAY.

I used to own a travel agency for 15 years and like to think I know what tourists want in a vacation apartment.

Paul purchased this apartment in 2000

I bought the building in 2000 and totally renovated the owners unit apartment, I lived in this apartment for 3 years, then bought another Apartment building in Twin Peaks, where I now live.

I decided to rent this apartment to tourists and its been a huge success. Lots of guests have said it feels like your are staying in a friends apartment and not a sterile vacation place, I thinks its because I furnished and decorated it as my home, so when I moved out I left everything as is. I loved living here!

Live like a local in a very family friendly neighborhood,

Everything is right outside the front door.

Previous guests have commented on how great the neighborhood is. There are all types of cafes, bars and restaurants from a Michelin star (Aziza) to Mom & Pop places all within a few blocks.

You really do not need a car, but if you need one for a few hours or a day, there is a ZIP car location just one block away.

Great place to stay

Paul's place is comfortable, well-stocked and in a fantastic location. The bus runs right outside the house every few minutes, so getting to any place in San Francisco is possible. We were able to take walks to see amazing scenery as well as city sights along the sidewalk. Vladimir was helpful, too. Another nice touch was the Netflix - it was great to be able to sit down and have a choice of movies after a long day of walking!

Comfortable apartment for a long-term stay

  • 5 of 5

We (husband and wife) recently stayed in Paul's apartment for 2.5 months (in addition to a week-long stay in autumn 2013). We had a great time! The apartment is very well-stocked and comfortable, with everything you would need for a long or short visit. There's even plenty of shampoo, body wash and lotion so if you're staying for a short visit you don't even need to bother packing those things. There's also a reusable shopping bag you can use to get your groceries.

It feels like a very safe neighborhood and the building itself feels very secure. The bus stops are very close and convenient. Groceries are easy to get - there's a Grocery Outlet just a short walk away and Thom's Natural Foods a short walk in the opposite direction, plus a few other small grocers nearby. Thom's has a good selection of gluten-free, dairy-free food options, which is handy for folks with dietary restrictions/food allergies. We had our laundry done every week at Geary Cleaners which is very close and convenient (the lady who works the desk is very friendly too).

We got Clipper cards and took the bus into town several times, but mostly we walked. Some of the places we walked to from the apartment include: Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Ocean Beach, Green Apple Bookstore (if you love used books, check it out!), Outer Sunset, the Presidio, the Legion of Honor, Lands End, Sutro Baths, Baker Beach... We even walked all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge and walked across it!

If you ever need help, Vladimir is right next door so he's just a phone call or a knock away. He was always happy to help whenever we needed it. Also Paul is very friendly, prompt, professional and easy to deal with.

One tip is to bring earplugs, especially if you are a light sleeper, though you may need them even if you're normally a heavy sleeper. Geary is a busy road so there's traffic noise all night (which isn't too bad because it's like white noise), however there is a bar a few doors down, so on Friday and Saturday nights we'd hear people late at night leaving the bar, talking loudly. For us, earplugs were a must for those nights, but once we had the earplugs in, we slept pretty well. Also if you need total darkness to fall asleep then bring an eye mask, because streetlights filters in through the blinds, softly illuminating the apartment.

All in all we had a pleasant and comfortable stay!

We had a really great time in San Francisco.
This apartment was perfect for our family, we loved everything from the moment we arrived untill we departed.
The apartment is located in a great part of the city, we could walk to everything, there are hundreds of restaurants in the neighboorhood and all within walking distance.
We loved being so close to the Golden gate park.
We would love to stay here again.

Back for a second time - and loved every minute again!

We stayed at this apartment in 2008 and wrote in the guest book 'we'd be back again'. Well we were - and it was a great stay yet again.

The apartment is really fantastic and the location is excellent. The bus service into the city is brilliant (buy a MUNI pass). We don't have a car when in San Francisco until this last day as we don't feel we need one but you can park easily around the apartment if you have one. The facilities in the apartment are second to none and it has probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We spent a few nights downstairs at Trad'r Sams again (highly recommended also) and there are some great bars and restaurants near by. We highly recommend this apartment and will be back again at some point in the future. Thanks again Paul. Also a mention to Vladimir - a lovely helpful fella.

Perfect place to stay in San Francisco. Many grocery stores and restaurants are located nearby. Walking distance to beautiful parks and beach for jogging. Easy access to the Union square and main attractions by Express bus. We did not use our car to explore San Francisco and we just enjoyed this beautiful city with no worries about parking. Very clean and comfortable apartment gives a real sense of home. I am grateful to Paul for his attitude to the guests. If I'm going to San Francisco again - no doubt about where to stay. Very recommended!
