Grasmere is the 'Jewel of the English Lakes' one of the most beautiful of the lakeland villages. The most famous resident William Wordsworth described it as 'the loveliest spot that man bath ever found' and most people agree with his sentiments today. There are many walks in the area for all levels of walkers. The village boasts several pubs and restaurants, art galleries and gift shops. The River Rothay runs through on it's way to Grasmere lake, where you can hire a rowing boat or just sit and admire the views. As the apartment was purchased for use as our 'second home' we have furnished it to a high standard, and we feel you will have a very relaxing holiday. From the windows at the rear of the property you look onto the river with uninterrupted views across parkland towards the fells and yet you are able to walk straight into the village from the gate, without having to use a car.

Our internet booking proved to be very worthwhile. We have had a very happy week here.
We've had a super holiday in a super apartment in a super village. This apartment will be the gold standard by which all other apartments will be judged -here and in Germany! The best holiday we have had for years even if our muscles are aching and we did'nt have time to peruse your excellent library -Mr & Mrs D.
