Welcome to 'La Bodega Casa Rural'. If you are searching for an enjoyable get-away holiday. If your requirement is for comfortable accommodation away from the tourist areas. Yet be located just 15 minutes drive from the beaches, golf courses and airport. If you like the idea of dining in good quality local restaurants within walking distance of your cottage, after soaking up the sun or exploring Tenerife's spectacular scenery, then we have the holiday for you at our 'La Bodega Casa Rural'. The four cottages named after flowers were converted from an existing winery and farm houses by the owners Ray & Sheila Atkins who are also your hosts. The cottages retain the original stone and high beamed wooden ceilings and are fully equipped for everything you need. Its home from home. This is an idyllic destination to relax and unwind. There are semi tropical gardens a delightful pool, sun loungers, barbecue area and an overall feeling of space. We hope to welcome you soon to ' La Bodega'.

Bougainvillea Cottage is the largest of the four cottages Bougainvillea cottage: has a large sitting room, with fully fitted separate kitchen / and dining area which looks on to the courtyard. The high ceiling is timbered in the typical Canarian tradition and the walls have been plastered showing exposed stone. There is an arch which leads off from the sitting room to the large kitchen and bedroom. The bathroom has bath/shower, w.c. bidet, wash basin, towels and hairdryer, everything you will need to make this your perfect holiday home. The bedroom is spacious with fitted cupboards chest of drawers bedside cabinets and full length mirror

La Bodega is located in San Miguel one of the oldest towns in the south of Tenerife . It is the administrative centre for the area of San Miguel de Abona and is surrounded by fertile land interspersed with barrancas mountains and pine forests. San Miguels historic narrow streets and classic Canarian architecture has great charm which will add to your holiday experience.

Activities: There are a number of golf courses in the south of Tenerife. Golf del Sur and Amarilla golf is just 15 min by car. Tennis courts 10 min, El Medano beach which is famous for kite and windsurfing, (nice walks) just 15 min. Local restaurants are within walking distance. This is an ideal location for couples who want to relax and enjoy themselves away from the hustle and bustle, yet be close enough to major shops, restaurants and entertainment that is offered in Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas 20min. Mount Teide and the Las Canadas national park is approx 45 minute scenic drive through the spectacular Tenerife countryside.

Other Activities: Good quality restaurants close by.

Hesitated first about writing a review because we did not want to publicise our "little piece of heaven" but Sheila and Ray and La Bodega deserve it!.All in all its a perfect place to sit down,relax and watch the world go by,with the perfect hosts finishing the job.

We spent two nights in the cottage after the first week in Hibiscus cottage (planning of holiday accommodation in advance is sometimes a challenge). I have to say that my heart was with the first place which was brighter and had a stunning view from the bedroom window. But I can imagine that in hot summer days probably Bougainvillea cottage is cooler and quieter. Very well equipped kitchen for those who is keen of cooking on holiday. The bathroom table was a bit small for all my cosmetics but will be fine for younger people. My special thanks for the quality of the bed.

A little piece of heaven in Tenerife - La Bodega

We consider ourselves to be most fortunate to have discovered La Bodega. It proved to provide us that for which we were seeking - a comfortable, tranquil environment to relax and unwind. The individual cottages are just that, individual, with different, tasteful decor that captures the history and purpose of the old buildings.Each has charm and all share an inventory that meets all of a holidaymaker's needs. This is all down to the owners, Sheila and Ray who have so imaginatively restored and developed these ancient buildings with such flair and who, on a daily basis, ensure that from arrival to departure, everything runs smoothly. We have a great affection for La Bodega: have recommended it to friends and colleagues and commend it to you.Send for the brochure and look at Ray's pictures. You will not regret it.
