Rochemorin is a spacious, well equipped farmhouse set in beautiful countryside that comfortably accommodates 8 people. The farmhouse has no close neighbours but benefits from being only 5 minutes by car from the charming village of Descartes, birthplace of the famous philosopher Rene Descartes, which has all shops, cafes, restaurants and a lively Sunday morning market. Ideally positioned for visiting the many and famous chateaux of the region, tasting the delicious local wines, including the sparkling wines of Saumur, and discovering the multitude of market towns and villages steeped in history. The chic city of Tours, classed as a mini Paris, is at hand for shopping be it for fashion, unusual household items or excellent food from the huge food market. For the sports enthusiasts there is horse riding, golf, canoeing, fishing, tennis, go-karting within an easy drive of the house. Children are also well catered for as there are play parks, zoos and of course the well known Futuroscope.

Rochemorin is 5kms from Descartes between Loches, 25kms and Chinon 40kms. Loches, steeped in history with a chateau, dungeons, museums. It is an arty town and has several art galleries as well as a huge choice of restaurants. Chinon has a chateau closely linked to Joan of Arc and quaint pedestrianised streets. Descartes has bakers, butchers, charcuterie, chemist, hairdressers, newsagents/book shop, post office, banks, gift shops, florist, internet access at library, handbags and shoe shop, laundry, garage/petrol stations, supermarkets, 5 cafes, 5 restaurants and a large market on Sunday selling everything from ready cooked Sunday lunch to shoes. Fish stall on Tuesday and take away pizza visits the square Friday evenings. Horse riding 8kms Golf 20kms canoeing, tennis in village. Tours 45kms Poitiers 50kms. Excellent restaurant at Cussay 3kms. Michelin starred restaurant at Petit Pressigny 18kms. La Rochelle, nearest beach and fishing port 2 hours. Paris 1 hour from Tours on TG.
