Kefallonia (Cephalonia) Vacation Rental villa: Metaxata

Fantastic Villa equipped with everything, a home from home. Large well maintained gardens, superb BBQ and pool. Although a car is essential the Villa is conveniently situated for Argostoli, the air-port and the lovely beaches on the south of the island. We would highly reccomend it.

Our stay at Villa Tessia was wonderful. The Villa is finished to a very high standard and the space, both internal and external is excellent.

We arrived with two small children, so the welcome pack was a lovely gesture, sandwiches and strawberries, before we had to unpack, and the local Robola wine was a great bonus for the 'grown ups'!

We were sent maps and island information before we got to the Villa which was very useful.

The Villa is in an excellent location, 15 mins from the airport. Metaxata is a lovely relaxing village. A car is needed, but everything is so close at hand. The beaches are safe for children (we went to Avithos - 5 mins away and Lassi beaches - 15 mins away).
Argostolli is worth a visit and again, only 15 mins drive away.

The Villa is just what we wanted. The space outside was secure, and plenty of room for the little ones to run around.
It was very quiet and made for a perfect family holiday.

We recently spent two weeks at Villa Tessia and had a fabulous time. The villa is really nice - very spacious, well equipped and finished to a very high standard. We also thought that the outside space and pool were excellent, although the water was a little chilly!

We really appreciated the welcome pack awaiting our arrival with everything we needed to tide us over - including a bottle of the local Robola wine which is very good. The owners had also been good enough to send us a road map of the island and a guide book before we arrived so we were able to plan some trips.

The villa was very convenient - just a short drive from the airport and close to Argostolli. It was also really convenient for Avithos beach which we thought was really nice. The village is quiet so a car is really essential but we found driving on the island really easy. There is a mini market in the village which is not particularly good but the nearest supermarket is only a few kilometres away and there is a really nice bakers in the next village. We found a really good taverna - The Olive Grove which is within walking distance.

We really liked Argostolli and found the views from St George's Castle excellent (as was the apple pie in the cafe bar up there). Sami was also very nice as was Fiskardo although that is quite a long trip.

On the whole, we would throroughly recommend both Kefalonia and in particular Villa Tessia. It is probably not for those wanting an active nightlife but is ideal for those wanting a relaxing break.
