Gualdo, our local village, is one of a number of medieval hilltop villages in the area and is a 2 min drive away. It has a lovely central square where everyone gathers, delightful avenue of trees to walk down where in the pretty park area is a play area for children. The village has all the local facilities that you need with bank, butchers, bakers, cafes, general stores, petrol station, chemist, etc. There are plenty of excellent restaurants around in many of the villages and small towns, just ask and someone will recommend something new to you.
There is a whole host of activities for you to enjoy or places to visit nearby whether they be beautiful mediaeval towns and villages, Renaissance art and architecture, the beach, lakes and mountains, Roman ruins, amphitheatres, open air opera, the largest caves in Europe, delicious local wines, fabulous restaurants, designer outlet shopping, including Tods and Prada and much, much more.
In the summer nearly every local village or town hosts an open-air music festival, food or drink festa and/or mediaeval reenactment. Exporting them will give you a real feel for the cuisine and spirit of Le Marche.
