Quiet apartment in the very centre of Paris
Last minute - 30 Nov to 12 Dec - 89 euros per night. THE Centre of Paris. PARIS 1 -THE Centre of Paris Fully renovated apartment, 1st floor (2nd American) no elevator, sleeps 4 (2 adults + 2 children up to teenager age) in a traditional building. Restaurants/shops in abundance within 2 minutes walk. Only a 4 minutes stroll to the Louvre and the Seine. For those of you who want a calm romantic break in the very heart of Paris the apartment is not facing a main street so no traffic noise to disturb you - peaceful yet no need to use public transport to dine or shop.
Super fast Wifi via fibre optics, telephone for local calls. You are welcomed at the apartment by appointment, no need to collect the keys elsewhere.
Classic french charm in local bars, baguettes from the local boulangerie in the street - everything close to hand.. 2 mins walk from a shopping centre. A personal view: I've stayed all over Paris, I get to talk to everyone and find the Parisians very friendly and helpful. Even though this apartment is in the absolute centre of Paris you will still dine and shop with the locals as well as tourists - and I find that Rue Saint Honore is almost like a little village, everyone stops for a chat, everyone knows each other. This area has it's own wonderful charm that still pleases me after many years of experiencing and enjoying Paris life - and of course for tourists the location cannot be bettered!
A few questions we've been asked:
Does the apartment suit 4 adults? If you are Parisian you would say yes to that, but we prefer to 'play safe' with your comfort because of space requirements and limit guests to 2 adults and 2 children (up to teenagers).
Does the apartment have a view over Paris?
No, the two large traditional windows look over an internal courtyard covered with security glass. On the other hand you will not be troubled with traffic or general street noise - an enormous benefit in a city centre!
What floor? First, i.e. one up from the ground
Lift? No, but it's not far up!
Is the area 'typically touristic'?
The street is a mix of Parisian flat owners who live and work there, mixed in with tourists who rent out various flats. And it is delightful, like a village in the middle of Paris.
Is the apartment building pretty?
It is a traditional building, the external paintwork is in need of improvement and will be re-done soon. Inside the building the public areas (stairs etc) were completely renovated in november 2012, the apartment was repainted and refurbished in march 2013.
Is renting a private apartment the same as staying in a hotel?
Thankfully not, you eat what you want, when you want. On the other hand there is no daily maid service nor 24/7 reception service - you do your own cleaning up.
Is there a cleaning service payable on departure?
A welcoming and cleaning fee is included in your price (for bookings from october 2013). You do not need to clean on your departure but you are expected not to leave dirty crockery and we ask you to take out all rubbish.
Are basic things like shower gel, tea, coffee included?
No, but there's a shop for the little urgent items just across the street!
Is the flat 'safe'? Security keypad entry to the courtyard, high security key to enter the main building, lockable apartment door - so I'd say yes.
Can you order taxis for me? - look in the welcome booklet in the apartment , there are taxi firms there, use the apartment phone, they speak english - it's easy in Paris!
Contact us: the owner lives in Paris but is very often abroad. He is therefore aided with bookings by Nicolas, who is English but has lived in France for a long time and does it mostly for the pleasure! The apartment is used exclusively for short/medium term guests, giving you the benefit of a private owner but a structured and (we hope) efficient yet personal service. You will be welcomed at the apartment (normally after 3pm unless otherwise agreed).

Hello, I'm Nicolas - I look after the reservations for the owner, Amaury, more or less as a hobby. All emails and calls will come to me directly - you can be assured of a personal but fast and prfessional service at all times. I am english by birth, have lived in France for over 10 years and expect to stay here. I live in Brittany, which is the very west of France, my hobbies include sailing and sea rowing (in all weathers) - I visit Paris very frequently of course, my preferred city by far! On arrival you will be welcomed at the apartment by Farida or her daughter Nina - at a time of your choosing (normally after 3pm arrival, before 11am departure - but ask us if that is inconvenient for you and we'll try to sort something out!). The nearest luggage deposit is at Gare du Nord - a mere 3km from the apartment and in the right direction for Charles de Gaulle and ideal for the channel tunnel trains of course - making an early arrival in Paris or late departure no problem for you - but IF the apartment is available we'll try to be flexible.

The apartment is walking distance from many key tourist sites in Paris and restaurants, shops etc are all close by. And it is quiet for Paris - the windows look out onto an internal courtyard - no view = no street noise, an important plus in a city.
