We all know that an Englishman’s house is his castle, but this particular castle is newly renovated in the latest style, carries the luxury of calm whilst remaining in the heart of the action, and has not one, but two bathrooms! A very modern answer to the old motte and bailey, we think you’ll agree. Conveniently located on the first floor of an apartment block that sits just off the King’s Road, this apartment also boasts abundant storage space, a private balcony and easy access to transport links into the city centre - with three nearby tube stations, Imperial Wharf, Fulham Broadway and Earls Court, as well as excellent bus links all along the King's Road, you'll be spolit for choice!

Living & Eating

We don’t know about you, but our idea of holiday heaven starts as it means to go on: with a lazy breakfast in a sun-gilded living room, with the option of stepping outside to continue with morning coffee and the papers on a private balcony. Step inside the generously proportioned living room, complete with a large and comfortable sofa, a well-furnished kitchen, stocked with all you might desire for knocking up a simple supper, or a sophisticated dinner party, and a breakfast bar, with stools, in addition to a dining table to seat four. This space is characterized by light and clean-cut lines; particularly soothing after a long days’ sightseeing in the capital, or an exciting but exhausting day trip out.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Light, bright, and perfect for sleep… both with fresh wooden floorboards, calming white-washed walls and large windows, find two bedrooms that will satisfy your yearning for some relaxation and zen after a busy day spent in the buzzing metropolis. The first contains a super king (6ft wide), which can be split into two singles (6ft6 long), with a beautiful chest of drawers and two bedside tables. The second bedroom, with twin singles (6ft6 long), which can be joined to form a second super king bed (6ft wide), is perfect to accommodate children if you are a family party.

Expect two bathrooms, one with a shower, the other a large family bathroom with a comfortable bathtub. Both have heated towel rails, WCs and wash basins. Comfort is the name of the game!

Access & Suitability

This apartment is on the first floor of an apartment block. There is an elevator for those who prefer not to take the stairs. It is particularly suitable for couples and family groups.

Neighbourhood

You might just have hit upon the most desirable postcode in London: just off the King’s Road, a short walk from the bustling Fulham Broadway and Parsons Green; within walking distance of all the fabulous boutiques and high street shops that line the King’s Road; an easy reach, either by foot or bicycle, from Sloane Square: this is the place to be. A constellation of the brightest and most glamourous bars and cafes are within a quarter of an hour of your door.

Take a pleasant walk up the King’s Road, with its multitude and variety of high street shops and boutiques, eclectic bars and sophisticated restaurants, and you will happen upon the hallowed precincts of Sloane Square, and from thence you are a few minutes from Harrods. For those of a Thespian bent, the Royal Court theatre is just on Sloane Square, and on Saturdays at the nearby Duke of York Square, a gastronomically cosmopolitan food market will hold all foodies in its thrall. The Saatchi gallery, a few minutes away, will delight all art fans, and a short and picturesque walk will take you down onto Chelsea embankment and the Thames, to the foot of the iconic Albert Bridge.

For those who like to look beneath the surface to the layers of layers of London history, which have built up over the centuries, Chelsea is a wonderful area to explore. Discover Crosby Hall, on Cheyne Walk, which was moved brick by brick from its original location in Bishopsgate, Thomas More’s house and an eternal monument to the ‘man for all seasons’; wander a little further down to what was once Henry VIII’s manor house (19 – 26 Cheyne Walk) and drink in the echoes of its old residents, from Katherine Parr (to whom Henry gave the house as a wedding present) to the tragic Lady Jane Grey, the nine – day Queen.

Chelsea has always been synonymous with wealth and royalty, ever since Henry VIII and his six successive wives haunted its enclaves, not to mention Thomas More, whose home in Cheyne Walk stands to this day. The King’s Road weaves its way through the area, carrying with it an aura of luxury and sophistication. However, despite its reputation for all that is chic and debonair, it still rings with the echoes of its Bohemian past, dispelling all odours of stuffiness. For centuries home to myriad artists – many of the pre-Raphaelites, Turner, the satirist Swift, and historian Carlyle spent their lives here in Chelsea – it was more recently the roosting place for Swinging Londoners, and a decade later, the birth place of punk. The famous Chelsea Art School is still a mecca for aspiring young artists, and lends the area intellectual glamour, whilst the surprising mixture of traditional and esoteric bars and clubs attracts London’s Bright Young Things – Chelsea is still very much up for the party!

We love contemporary architecture and this is a smart and stylish 'penthouse' in a great part of London. The space is very generous, and nicely appointed. There are two small terraces with wonderful views to the 'Eye' and the 'Shard'. Saturday morning make sure to start at the Burrough Market and bring back your bounty to the apartment for a delicious brunch.
