The villa has three beautiful double bedrooms at one end of the house and a fourth sleeping area with a comfortable divan on a mezzanine floor overlooking the dining room. Each bedroom is well furnished including built in cupboards for hanging and storage purposes. Two bedrooms have double beds and the third two single beds. There is a large bathroom with toilet and a separate shower room. A second toilet is located in the laundry room below the mezzanine. There is a medium sized fully equiped kitchen with table and four chairs. The bright and spacious living room leads out through patio doors to the veranda and terrace and also extends into a large dining area and adjacent laundry room. The mezzanine is situated above the laundry room. Outside the dining room there is a BBQ area with portable gas barbecue. The villa is attractively furnished and decorated throughout. Parking is available for one car within the grounds but there is additional parking alongside the property.

The area is perfect for swimming and canoeing in the Gardon at Collias (20 mins drive away) and at the Gorges de l'Ardeche which is an hour and a half's drive. The Gorges offer an unforgettable experience not only with the canoeing but also from the scenic drive around the area. It is always best to travel from West to East along the road overlooking the Gorges as this provides the best viewing and easy stop off points for photos.

Uzes itself is a photographer's paradise. There are photos to be taken around every corner. The Saturday market is a must - you will not be disappointed but best to get there early before the crowds. The surrounding villages will entrace you. Try not to miss out on the fortified village of Lussan set high up on a hill with its 180 degree views of the surrounding countrside, Gourdagues with its canal and La Roques sur Ceze with its waterfall.

The villa is also ideally situated using a back road via St Maximin (an attractive village in its own right) to get to the Commercial Centre outside of Uzes (8 min drive) where there is a large Carrefour and other superstores. On a clear day, this road offers splendid views to the far off hills of the Cevennes. Incidentally, do not miss out on the fantastic value for money luncheon menus at Carrefour. Maybe not an obvious tourist attraction but for feeding a large hungry family, it can't be beaten for quality,venue and service.

Back at the villa, its quiet, private but not isolated position offers a lovely refuge for the tired sightseer. The pool, attractively positioned amongst the olive trees, will add enormously to the enjoyment of your holiday. At the back of the garden there is a quiet patio with table, chairs and parasol for any member of your party keen to enjoy a quiet moment on their own.

In order to keep the garden tidy, a gardener will come once every 10 days or so principally to mow the lawn. The pool will be cleaned and monitored once a week.

Fantastic stay!!

My three daughters and I had a fabulous week at Les Olivettes. The property is superb in every respect - the villa, the gardens, the pool....all wonderful. We were also blessed with spectacular weather! Already wishing we were back there!!! I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet and secluded get-away yet still well-placed for Uzes and Avignon and in simply spectacular countryside.

Spacious, comfortable and thoroughly relaxing !

We had a wonderful six week stay at Les Olivettes in May and June, 2013. The property is surprisingly spacious, beautifully maintained, well equipped and is quite private. Everything works and the property is very lovingly presented. The pool is great with the outdoor areas and garden being an enjoyable bonus. If the surrounding countryside and villages weren't so beautiful you could easily just settle in and not leave the property, except to buy food and wine of course. Highly recommended !!

Perfect

We have just had a wonderful two week holiday in this villa. The villa is large with three good sized bedrooms plus another sleeping area on a mezzanine. This was perfect for our group. We also really liked that there was a separate shower room from the main bathroom. We loved the heated pool and used it several times during our stay. The furnishings and equipment (eg cooking utensils) are all good quality and we were able to cook at home. The location was great and we did several day trips including Nimes and a canoe trip down the river and under the amazing Pont du Gard. There are lots of opportunities for walking and many gorgeous little villages around (St Siffret, St Maximin). The property was really well maintained and very clean. We highly recommend this villa for a wonderful French holiday.

Easter in St Siffret

Our family of four had a lovely relaxing Easter holiday at Les Olivettes. The property was very clean and comfortable, and obviously well looked after. The owners have thought of all that one might need, especially in the kitchen, and the welcoming bottle of wine and snacks were appreciated.
The kids really enjoyed the pool, and the outdoor area was perfect for relaxing with a glass of local wine and enjoying the abundant local produce from the Uzes market.
The location was ideal for exploring the region's many attractions, including the Pont du Gard, Uzes, Avignon, the Carmague, Nimes, wineries, etc, etc. The local Italian restaurant in St Siffret was very good.
I would highly recommend this property to friends and family.

St Siffret is a quiet and charming ancient village with its own supermarket and two quality restaurants nearby. From the village you can enjoy lovely views of the surrounding hills. Our villa is situated on a small hill above the village and only 4 kms from Uzes, a renowned medieval town with a population of around 8,300. The town hosts one of the most colourful markets in the South of France and offers charming streets, cafes, restaurants and two museums to delight children of all ages. It is situated about 20 miles from Nimes and 30 miles from Avignon. The attractive town of Montpellier with its open and pedestrianised shopping centre is a mere hour's drive away.

There is plenty to see and do in the area including the magnificent Pont du Gard, the Roman amphitheatres of Nimes and Arles, the Palace of the Popes at Avignon and the fortified town of Aigues Mortes and the region of the Camargues. The river Gardon and the Gorges de L'Ardeche offer good swimming and canoeing. Cycles can be hired in nearby St Quentin La Poterie so as to explore the multitude of attractive villages in the area; and there are also walking and horse riding facilities

  • The principal bathroom is attractively tiled throughout with a terra cotta floor. There are tiled steps leading to the bath which has its own shower and shower curtain. Hand rails have been installed to assist getting into and out of the bath. There are two basins with underneath cupboards and a large mirror and a large heated towel rail. A toilet is also situated in this room. The shower room is next door and is also attractively tiled throughout in similar colours to the bathroom. The separate toilet at the other end of the villa has a basin and is located in its own private area within the laundry room below the mezzanine. As a result it is of particular use to any guests using the fourth sleeping area in the Mezzanine.

  • The attractive bedrooms are tiled with soft coloured terra cotta flooring. The principal double bedroom is very spacious and is located at the front of the property. The second of the two double bedrooms is smaller and together with the third bedroom look out over the terrace leading to the swimming pool and garden. Although there is no air conditioning all the bedrooms remain comfortable as the villa is situated on top of a hill and attracts cool breezes. There are nevertheless fans available in the villa if the need so arises. Each bedroom is equipped with adjustable mosquito netting as required. The sleeping arrangements in the Mezzanine are provided for by a comfortable 'clic clack' ( ie sofa bed) which will sleep two adults. There is a wardrobe with shelves for storage and bed side tables with side lights. There are windows which provide plenty of light and air. The Mezzanine looks over the dining area and is very private and quiet once other guests have retired to bed

The TV attracts both English as well as French TV stations. The wireless internet facility needs no code to obtain immediate usage. The telephone is connected but is available for emergency use only. The garage houses the freezer and certain garden equipment, bottled gas, boiler and oil tank. The pool measures 8mX4m and is suitable for swimming only. For security purposes, the pool cover is mecanised using plastic slats. The Central Heating system has been fully modernised and is most effective during the winter months. However, the central fireplace can be used to provide supplemental heating if required. The external garden area measures around 1,200 sq meters. There are attractive olive trees set in a large newly established garden lawn offering a safe playing area for children and providing welcome shade . The patio area surrounding the villa is extensive and ideal for relaxing on garden furniture under either a wonderful mulberry tree or next to olive trees.
