Our stay at Kumquat Cottage could not have been more perfect. We loved the cottage and found the gardens to be amazing. The location was perfect also - an easy walk into town and far enough away to be quiet. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful cottage with us.

Kumquat cottage is delightful, and everything the photos and information describes. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself, although the town's restaurants are so good you'll want to eat out sometimes. We stayed for a week, and loved both the cottage and San Ignacio. Sadly the weather wasn't cooperative, but that's Mother Nature for you! We visited ATM....not to be missed. We also drove ourselves to Caracol, which was a worthwhile yet bone-jarring experience. Xunantunich is lovely, as is the cafe across the road on the right coming off the hand crank ferry. Saturday market is hustle and bustle; Spanish Lookout very pretty and worth the drive if you have wheels.
Nigel was very helpful in orienting us to the cottage; it was great to have the phone, wifi, and laptop. The gardens are very beautiful with OT's of plants, trees and birds.
All in all.....lovely.

We recently stayed a week here and loved it! Kumquat cottage was spacious, clean and we loved the backyard. Using the rooftop as a patio provided us with great views. The bed was so large we actually had to search for each other a few times! The availability of a laptop at the cottage was a surprise and greatly appreciated. We didn't use it but the cell phone was a comfort to have as well. Cottage is close to town so we were able to walk to a few points of interest. Highly recommend Xunanwich and Cahel Pech (which is a 20 min. walk from cottage). Sharon and Nigel recommended a tour operator (Elias) for Tikal, who was absolutely fabulous! We watched a few other guides @ Tikal and we were thankful we went with Elias (can't remember the tour company name but he is located in the Casa Blanca Guest house). The market is a must for fresh vegies, fruits and get awesome cheese frm the Mennonite ladies. We travelled on to Caye Caulker from here but we both agree that we liked San Ignacio more. We will be back!
