Secluded Thirteenth Century Tuscan Farmhouse, beautifully restored
Ancient stone farmhouse surrounded by woods on three sides, with magnificent views over the Mugello Valley and the lake of Bilancino.
With a large old fireplace in the kitchen, it has a nice private garden with a beautiful view and a large separate loggia where you can enjoy your meals 'al fresco'.
Ground floor: the kitchen with all the facilities (oven-microwave, dishwasher, fridge, gas fire), two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with twin beds), a bathroom (shower, sink, toilet, bidet). A small storage room with washing machine.
First floor: a large living-room with Sky TV-Computer Wi-FI and DVD (some nice movies) and CD player, another bathroom (bathtub, sink, toilet, bidet), and a small studio with sofa-bed for an occasional guest.
We are a couple, architect and painter, living in an old farm house that we have rescued with great care.
The house which stands on the hilltop overlooking the Mugello Valley is from medieval time and was originally a two family farmhouse. It’s still divided in two units from ground to roof. We live in one part and rent the other unit (sq meters 150), completely independent with its own private entrance, garden and separate loggia.
The home is situated in the Mugello Valley, 40 minutes drive North of Florence, an area where the famous Medici Family, Princes of Florence, has its origin and where many famous artists from the past were born (Giotto, Beato Angelico, Cimabue, Andrea del Castagno).
The house is published in “Country Interiors” and “Icons: Tuscan style”, both edited in 6 languages by Taschen.
Tuscany and Golf: Now, both can be enjoyed at the acclaimed Poggio dei Medici Golf and Country Club , set in the heart of the beautiful Mugello region, and home of the Ladies Italian Open from 1999 to 2003
The Course, designed by Italian architect Alvise Rossi Fioravanti and by professional player Baldovino Dassù , allows for four different playing routes within its 18 holes . As you play this fascinating course, you can also appreciate the typical Tuscan scenery , viewed from a vantage point near Scarperia . You will find yourself on a world-class Golf Course deep in the countryside, only a few kilometres from Florence.
