Apartment is located on a very beautiful street. We were able to walk to many places including the nearby metro stations very easily. Apartment is packed with facilities that made our stay very pleasant. Carlos provided great tips on the day when we arrived, besides helping us bring the luggage upstairs. All of this was possible only because Maria is there in the background, with her very prompt assistance through email, each of those filled with great advise and input.
We went through all of the reviews by previous visitors and that was very helpful. No review would be complete without a request to eat at Berthillon at least once, the food was so delicious (3-cheese crepe was heavenly) and the service was clearly by the far the best we received during our stay in Paris.
A few other notes follow. Whoever visits the Monoprix supermarket, almost anyone would be I guess, bring enough backpacks to bring home the food and other items, as that way, we can easily share the burden among the family members. The other suggestion would be to purchase a Paris City Map before leaving for the trip, as it took a while for me to buy one locally, and understand how to use it. The last suggestion, if your stay happens to be during the winter, would be to shut the glass door to bedroom completely, and turn down the heat all the way to the lowest setting inside the bedroom; instead wear enough layers, and use the comforters as necessary. This is to keep the amount of dry heat to the minimum thereby increasing the comfort at night; this is because the house does not have a humidifier built as part of the HVAC system.
Exactly as described, Maria and Carlos always available to answer any queries. Next door to supermarket, lots of restaurants in the vicinity, short walk to the Metro and buses. Will use again.
Everything about our first visit to Paris can be summed up in one word. Delightful!
Maria's apartment was perfectly located in the heart of Paris. The apartment was spotless. Everything you could need was provided. The living room area was a four-season porch that was very cozy. My son slept well on the pull out couch. Rain on the roof was wonderfully soothing. The full bed in the main BR had a foam mattress that was firm and comfortable. The small fridge, oven, microwave, dw worked perfectly. We did not use the w/d. The bath room was clean, small shower with good strong hot water.
There is a market next door, a bread shop, and a cheese shop across the street. Lovely shops line the street.
Don't forget umbrellas, electronic converter, power cord, and an international data plan on your phone. Also, make sure your credit card has a security chip- my cc did not work when swiped!
It is within 5 minutes walk to Notre Dame. Maybe 7 minute walk to metro and RER. Consider a Navigo pass (we just got a carte of metro passes and had extra tickets at the end of our visit).
Highly recommend a stay at Maria's wonderful apartment!
We have rented several apartments in Paris and this was by far the most perfiect in every way. As always, Maria and Carlos attend to your every need. This apartment is in THE most ideal spot in Paris. It is a 20 minute walk to almost anywhere you wish to go in Paris and is on an iconic Parisien street on the most sought after Ile St. Louis. The apartment itself has everything you need. Every detail is considered. The space is used brilliantly including an incredibly small but full kitchen with a washer/dryer and dishwasher. We are planning to spend a month there next year but I could live there in this apartment which is less than 1/10th of the space of my house in the states. It has everything you need.
We just returned from our vacation to France and we started the trip in this wonderful apartment. We were traveling with my 82 year old parents and they agreed this was the best spot in Paris to stay. We were able to walk everywhere from this central spot and the apartment had charm and was so quiet and safe. My husband and I slept on the pull out sofa and were very comfortable. Maria was very quick to respond to all questions and gave us very helpful information about the area. Bito met us at the apartment and carefully explained how everything worked. The apartment was well stocked with all necessary items the kitchen although small had everything we needed. We all agreed that we would not hesitate to return to this magical location. I am already planning my return trip!
My family and I stayed at this amazing apartment for a week in late December. Wow. It was wonderful. Maria and Bito were so helpful in getting us situated. My husband was sick when we arrived and Bito helped us with our luggage and showing us around the area. The market next door, the bakery across the street, the wonderful shops and restaurants, and Notre Dame just a 3 minute walk away.
We loved it and would return today if we could. My favorite part was walking the cobblestone streets at night with the Christmas decorations sparking above our heads.
It was a magical time for our family. Thank you so much, Maria
Stay at the heart of Paris ! The apartment is on the very chic and posh Ile Saint-Louis, on the river Seine and next to Ile de la Cité and the Notre-Dame Basilica. Ile Saint-Louis is an up scale neighbourhood, the most prestigious in Paris, where you have beautiful shops and services, including bakery, butcher, food stores and restaurants. You can walk through the heart of the city, to all the museums, including Louvre and Centre Pompidou / Beaubourg. Walk on the right bank through the Marais, to place des Vosges, or through the Tuileries, to Place de la Concorde and les Champs Elysées, up to l'Arc de Triomphe. Or stroll on the Left bank through the Latin Quarter, Jardins du Luxembourg, Saint-Germain des Prés, Les Invalides and the Eifel Tower. If you get tired of walking, why not hop on a cruise or 'bateau-bus' (boat bus) on the river Seine and return back to the comfort of your island apartment. The nearest Metro is Pont-Marie, but several other stations are also nearby.
