Isola del Piano Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Le Marche holiday villa - for your exclusive use of house, garden and pool

Surrounded by cornfields, vineyards and olive groves, this is a very comfortable detached Le Marche farmhouse suitable for one family or a group of 4/5 friends. It is a single property for your exclusive use. It is very well equipped. There are two comfortable bedrooms (both have superb views - the master bedroom has a fantastic double aspect), a modern shower room, large farmhouse kitchen / dining room and lovely lounge with French doors which open onto the superb veranda where you can wine, dine and enjoy fabulous views of the valley and the mountains and the beautiful pool (kidney shape 10 m x 5 m) (open beginning of May until mid October) from which there are more breathtaking views.

There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive and the nearest one (which has excellent food) is at 2.3 km.

The local village is 8 minutes away. There are two general stores, a bar, newsagent, post office, bakery, pharmacy and laundry. The local town of Fossombrone has everything.

The Blue Flag beaches of Fano are 30 minutes away by car. Fano has 140+ restaurants!

All rooms in the house have great character because all have restored beams.

In the lounge there is a DVD / VCR/ FM system and a movie library of about 250 classic and top rated films. There are many board games etc.

There is a superb new professional table tennis table in the large covered portico - so you can play all day, in all weather.

There is a boxed set of Boules by Jaques of London .

And don't forget the beautiful pool !

We have a new stone barbecue with a unique charcoal burning system which allows you to cook within 10 minutes of lighting. It really is simple to light and very efficient for cooking at different levels.

We have a one acre garden which is surrounded by our 7 acre corn-field. It is located in a spectacular rural position but close to our local village and to the towns of Fossombrone, Urbino and Fano. This Province of Pesaro-Urbino has masses of culture, superb countryside and lots of places to visit and things to do for children.

Fano - for great beaches in a beautiful town go to Fano . It is only 30 minutes by car to Fano's Blue Flag beaches and the town of Fano is a gorgeous part Roman and Renaissance town rich in art and architecture. There are many lovely shops, bars, about 140 restaurants, several beautiful squares, big street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a superb fish market every day. There is a busy fishing port and a huge modern marina.

The beach areas are particularly appealing to children because there is everything there for them to do. There can be no better place to eat ice cream than in Fano, which has so many ice cream bars!

A very elegant town , with restaurants everywhere - you will undoubtedly fall in love with Fano -so will the children.

Caves of Frasassi - Our visitors’ No 1 place of interest, including its popularity with children. A stupendous cave system with multi-lingual guides to escort you along its many well constructed pathways which lead through the incredible caverns.

Urbino -The Renaissance jewel, equal in importance to Florence at that time. This is the home town of Rafael (you can visit his house) and the Court of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. A beautiful town and architectural gem - a 'must do' for lovers of culture!

Aquafan - a fantastic water fun-park for all ages - voted 'tops' by families with children, but also fun for adults (

Walking - immediately you leave the house you have a choice of lovely walks with spectacular scenery.

Eating out - This is a truly gastronomic Province with so many good places to eat that you are forever spoilt for choice! There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive. The nearest restaurant (excellent pasta and meats) is 2.3 km away. Fano has 140+ restaurants!

Roast meats and home-made pasta are a speciality of this Province, and because there are a number of commercial fishing ports on the Adriatic coast, including in particular Fano, there are many restaurants specialising in fish, serving the most wonderful dishes (grilled, fried, baked, risotto, pasta). This area is renowned for its Brodetto (fish soup). In Fano and surrounding towns and villages (including our local area) the annual International Brodetto & Fish Soup festival is held from 12 September to 12 October.

Excellent places for pasta and pizza are to be found everywhere so you can eat well without spending a lot and all within easy reach by car!

All restaurants welcome children and make a special effort to ensure that their needs are looked after.

You can eat truffles in many restaurants because nearby Acqualagna is the truffle centre of Italy. There is a White Truffle Festival in October / November every year when many Italian and International gourmets attend this important gastronomic event. There are cookery demonstrations by top chefs and you can buy produce from all over the Le Marche Region. There is also a special marquee where Sommeliers advise you of the best wines to taste.

Best known Le Marche wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and the superb Lacrima di Morro D'Alba (the vineyard is located to the north of Ancona). Other wines from the Region are Rosso Conero, Sangiovese, Bianchello del Metauro. There are vineyards all over this beautiful Region, many of which are within a 30 minute drive and open to the public and where you can buy their wines. There are two vineyards within a 10 minute drive of the farmhouse.

You can also buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the many local producers.

Perfect Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

A fantastically relaxing holiday. The house is very well equipped - far more of all the cutlery, glasses etc than just the minimum required. Really helpful notes and instructions/guidance to help you make the most of your stay. But if the inside is good, the outside is amazing. You will never find a holiday property with a wider, more peaceful and stunning view - we enjoyed it in every changing light from before dawn to after dark. The pool is lovely, the seating and dining furniture are great and the table tennis is fantastic quality. Loads of interesting places to visit and good places to eat. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday

An Italian Gem

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Casa Rosa - three glorious weeks, but we wish it had been three month. The number one attraction is undoubtedly the location - the view across the pool to the hills and mountains beyond was simply breathtaking - no photos could capture the stunning beauty of it. I don't think we have ever stayed anywhere so peaceful and quiet. No jets flying overhead - that was unique in our experience, just birdsong and the breeze as it gently rustled through the leaves.

And the house itself is so easy to live in - we immediately felt "at home". Cooking on the BBQ or in the fantastically equipped kitchen was a pleasure and lounging round the pool a delight.

Thank you for the voluminous information which helped enormously when planning days out. We did manage to drag ourselves away from the house occasionally and would say Mondavio and Corinaldo were probably our favourites while Pesaro, a stylish seaside resort was our preferred place to enjoy the beach.

All in all the best house we have stayed in Italy.

All this AND ice-cream... !

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Casa Rosa. Despite some mountain wind and storms in the middle of the week, the Mid-summer weather was fabulous. The house has everything to relax with, pool, patio, sofas, beds, etc.etc., and the location is out of this world. We had exceptionally clear moonless nights, and the stars put on their best display for us, even with the slight glow of the recent Solstice still just below the northern horizon. We were serenaded every night by 'Signor Usignolo' (even during the wind!). On our way home in the evenings after dining out in several of the fabulous eateries around, we did indeed see wild boar (a mother and two young), and two lumbering porcupines crossing the track. The fields were so many different colours with the wheat and other crops, and there were so many different wildflowers all around, and the trees all in full leaf just finished it all off. We were also visited by a hare. And the sunsets, well...

We made it to Corinaldo and Gubbio and various points inbetween. The return from Gubbio through Scheggia, Sassoferrato, and Pergola, we can thoroughly recommend as a scenic route, particularly with the views of the mountains as you come down into and around (and then out of) Pergola, but you might need a good head for heights going up the gorge...

The caves at Frasassi too are stunning, and a detour through Genga, Fossi, & Rochetta on the way back, over the top down to Arcevia (a large hill town with a magnificent view down over Le Marche towards Serra di Conti and Montecarotto), and then back cross-country through Montale, Strada Valle, Ripalta, Loretello, Nidastore, San Lorenzo in Campo, and then over to Fratte Rosa and Isola di Fano (if a bit long and winding!) was certainly quieter, more scenic and rural than just following the main roads. Idyllic!

And then there was the seaside at Fano as well. Aaah!

(All this AND ice-cream too...)

Thank you for making your bit of Paradise available. We have other friends who will want to visit Casa Rosa now when they hear us going on about what a wonderful time we had (and when we've bored them with our pictures...)

Although we never leave reviews for the holidays we take, we felt on this occasion we have to share our feelings for Casa Rosa. In a word - paradise!

From the first moment we walked in and found the owners’ welcome pack, we knew we were in good hands. How wonderful of them to consider our requirements after our journey from the UK.

The farmhouse has been restored magnificently to a high specification, is comfortably cool in the strong summer heat, extremely clean and beautifully presented with a lovely lounge for evening relaxation (if you manage to drag yourself off the terrace with its incredible sunset views and the stars that follow). The kitchen has all the modern utilities including washing machine, dishwasher, microwave etc. and again is beautifully clean. The bedrooms extremely comfortable, especially the double aspect master bedroom with the four-poster bed, the bathroom modern, clean and pristine.

The description of the property and the photographs, although accurate, do not prepare you for the breath-taking reality of its beauty. The panoramic views from the terrace, master bedroom, lounge and kitchen are stunning.

Whether we lazed by the lovely swimming pool, relaxed on the terrace after a bbq, spent time roaming the stunning countryside, dined at local restaurants, visited the town of Fano (the fish restaurants there are fantastic) for the seaside experience and genuine Italian markets, our stay at Casa Rosa was without doubt, the best holiday we have had. It totally exceeded our expectations and we genuinely feel lucky to have found it. For us this is the complete getaway experience.

We truly believe that the owners of Casa Rosa go far beyond the norm to ensure all visitors have a beautiful holiday and if this review helps you to decide to stay there, then we're glad we wrote it. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Mike and Sheila,

Just a quick note to say we had an amazing two weeks at Casa Rosa! Thankyou so much for letting others enjoy this very special house! I have written two whole pages in the guestbook so I will not repeat myself, but in short we had a fantastic time - highlights were the amazing views, being invited to Michele and his lovely family for dinner and the biggest highlight of all... Eirik proposed to me on our last evening there! Such a romantic setting- as of course you know very well!

We have now returned to our every day life here in Norway, our special memories from Casa Rosa will be treasured forever.

Thankyou again!

Very kind regards from Eirik, Sunniva, Oliver (4,5) and Eili (9 months)

Gorgeous and idyllic house

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely honeymoon at Casa Rosa. The communication with the owners was really kind and we had a honeymoon surprise on our arrival, so we directly felt welcome and homelike. The secluded location of the house is wonderful and the beautiful terrace with the panoramic view a real highlight. You can make nice trips or just relax on the terrace or in the pool. We will definitely come back, because a house like Casa Rosa is hard to find!
