The spacious living room includes a convertible sofa, two leather club chairs, antique mirrors and chairs carved in the Mentonnaise style, television/VCR cable, WIFI, radio and stereo. The dining table sits eight. For the benefit of wine lovers we have provided good wine glasses to help you savor the area’s special AOC wines: Cotes De Provence, Bandol, and our favorite ,Vigonier available in town. The fourth window, in what the French call 'an American Kitchen' ,or open plan, opens onto the narrow Rue Longue. The unusual dish storage is a Vaissellier, a Provencal crockery shelf. From the kitchen window one has full view of the ancient Roman road, the Via Aurelia, now called the Rue Longue. The apartment accommodates four people comfortably. There is a large bedroom with full bed and a smaller bedroom with a trundle bed. A small ceiling frescoe was discovered when we removed ceiling tiles. There is a bath with generous shower space, towel heater, hair dryer and a separate WC (toilet).

An international crowd of visitors, cosmopolitan shops in the modern town, mazes of narrow streets in the 14th century sector, fountains, cafes and tea-rooms, ardent blue seas and spacious seafront promenades transform a simple stroll into a delight for the senses. It’s fun to get lost and discover, to follow your instincts. Starting out for 'The Barbie' museum in Monaco may get you sidetracked to a Greek Mansion. Eat Socca, the local chick pea crepe cooked in front of you at the MARCHE. Try a cooling Perrier-Menthe on a hot day, or a Campari and Soda. Make your own memories. The smallest experience will be the best if it is truly YOURS.

MENTON - AN INTRODUCTION
The apartment is located in the Medieval part of Menton on The Rue Longue. This area dates from the 14th to 17thC. There are 12th c. vestiges behind the Basilica in the” old town”. We are located between Monaco and the Italian border. Menton’s micro-climate allows palm trees and English Gardens to thrive. Earliest records of the city date from 1140 Common Era. Three large windows allow a magnificent view of the sea, beach ,the Italian border, Bordighera and San Remo. For hardy walkers, there is a seaside path Le Chemin Des Douaniers or Custom officers’ Walk.. Originally built to stop those carrying contraband, the path has been preserved and can be taken all the way to Antibes.
In November 2002, Menton was featured in The New York Times’ SOPHISTICATED TRAVELER magazine. Travel books state that “Menton enjoys 321 days of sunshine”
