Trulli Lovely

Just returned from 9-night stay in one of the apartments in this BEAUTIFUL Masseria, which I am happy to warmly recommend.
Booking was straightforward: every email question answered promptly and helpfully. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, to find description & pictures absolutely true - if, indeed, not better! We peeked into the other accommodation as well: the standard great everywhere. Everything has been sensitively transformed for 21st century expectations, whilst respecting original character of both masseria and trulli. So you can chose rustic simplicity (still comfortable) or more classy. All beautifully and carefully presented and spotlessly clean.
Lovely central courtyard between the trulli, farmhouse and pool enclosure, with olive trees, tables & chairs. If you come with children they will be entertained by the kittens (well, cats by next summer!). This place has an authentic feel - it's not just tourist veneer. Delightful Raffaelle was around - discretely - each day, friendly and very patient with non-Italian speakers. English not spoken so much in this area as other more tourist-accustomed parts of Italy: so much the better. You really know you are visiting another country. Smiles & miming go a long way!! Try learning a little Italian before you come.
The location is fantastic: peacefully rural for relaxing days, but really well placed for the many gorgeous local villages & small towns, with their charming old buildings & narrow winding streets and colourful, lively markets. We really enjoyed the local festival - brilliant OTT firework display. (Seem to be lots of festivals all summer!) Plenty for further afield trips too. Owner provided great information (emailed in advance so you can plan ahead - but make sure you print it out!). Food everywhere fabulous & very reasonable eating out: follow the owner's suggestions.
I unhesitatingly recommend this for a quiet, relaxing holiday; probably not the best location if you've got teenagers (tho' a hammock is strung between the olive trees, so someone could just sleep all day!).
We hired a car in Bari - having travelled by train from Paris (recommended). Public transport more available than sounded in property description: (train to Locorotondo) and buses connect the local towns along main roads. So serious non-car users could find this worked, providing you are adults-only party, prepared to walk. (Nearest bus route about 1 to 1 1/2 miles down to main road)
Great place!

Owner's Response: That is music to our ears! And so beautifully said. Thank you from us all.
P.S. In summer both nearby villages have have plenty of concerts and events in the evenings. Great for teenagers ( and safe!)
