This lovely modern apartment is centrally located in the Lido area of Funchal and about a 20 minute stroll to Funchal passing the famous Reids hotel, Casino, Santa Caterina park, Presidents official building, the new “ Dolce Vita “ shopping mall and years old lovely Baltazar Dias Theatre eventually arriving at the 500 years old Cathedral. Continue to walk and you will reach the “ Old Town “ and recommended restaurant now in the Old Fort .
Also 5 minutes walk from the apartment is the new “ forum “ shopping mall heading towards Camara De Lobos where Winston Churchill stayed and painted. Before you get to Camara De Lobos there is the new promenade of Praia Formosa which has a black sandy beach and restaurants.
There are 2 man made yellow sandy beaches in Machico and Calheta large which are less than 30 minutes drive going in each direction. The airport is 20 minutes away by taxi but with a local bus service going into Funchal. The famous Monte church can be reached by either cable car or local transport and near Monte is where the Botanical gardens are to be found. If you want to play golf then Palheiro golf club is just above Funchal and Santa da Serra is located just above the airport. This is where the Madeiran Open is played each year or you can go by boat to the island of Porto Santo with its pristine white sandy beaches.
