Lovely area and apartment, with friendly owners :)

My family and I stayed here for the best part of a week last October. I just wanted to leave a brief review to say how lovely the apartment and area was, for anyone thinking of booking a holiday in Dubrovnik.
The building itself is beautiful as is the apartment, the listed pictures are very accurate so you won't be disappointed if they appeal to you now. The property is set just back from the main road, roughly 300ft, however if you have difficulty climbing stairs it may be worth noting that there are a few flights of stone steps before you reach the apartment, and another set of stairs when you enter the building to get to the apartment (you enter through the bottom floor by the table and chairs, but the apartment you stay in is on the top floor).
The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are large and comfortable. There is no living room, as it looks like one of the bedrooms has been converted. We didn't find this a problem as the bedrooms and kitchen are lovely, and when we were all in the apartment we would either sit in the kitchen or gather in the larger of the two bedrooms. However, I doubt you will find yourself spending too much time sitting in the apartment as the local area is so beautiful.
The only 'issue' I can think of with the apartment is that the bath/shower could do with being updated, as the bath is too small to actually lay in and in order to use the shower you have to sit in the bath, rather than stand. Only a minor gripe and something most will not be bothered about I'm sure.
Outside of the apartment, there are some lovely surrounding gardens and to the back of the building, there are park gardens with amazing sea views, and slightly further along you can see the walls of the 'old city'.
From the main road by the apartment, it is less than a 400m walk down the hill to the 'old town'. Between the apartment and the 'old town' on the hill, there is a nice bakery that we used quite a lot. Just before the gates to the old town, there are a couple of mini marts and the main bus stop, where you can buy tickets from a kiosk. The kiosk is next to the tourist information building.
If you are looking to stay in Dubrovnik this apartment is excellent (and good value) and the owners are really pleasant and helpful. Prior to the holiday we arranged for them to collect us from the airport (for about 30/40 euros I think) which is reasonable, and eliminated the stresses of directing a taxi to the apartment.
