Coverack Apartment Rental Photos and Description

A romantic & stylish self-catering rental apartment on Coverack Headland.

Looking for an idyllic holiday break for two? My beautiful holiday home near the lovely, unspoiled village of Coverack, Cornwall, could be the answer. 180 degree views of sea, sky and coastline greet you from the wide south facing bay window in the bright sitting room and the large balcony. A grounds leads down to a private sandy beach at low tide. The romantic, stylish south-facing apartment, which is on the first floor of a restored and converted Edwardian Hotel, has been completely refurnished. The living room and bedroom have uninterrupted southerly sea views and doors opening onto the balcony - perfect for breakfast. Offering, open-plan living in the comfortable sitting room which has a streamlined kitchen area with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dish-washer, (ground floor laundry) and TV, DVD, Radio/CD, telephone, and free Wi-Fi Broadband. The shower room contains a strikingly modern hand basin, illuminated mirror, shower, shaver socket and heated towel rail.

The bedroom furniture includes a King Size bed with memory mattress, bedside tables, wall lights, mirrors, chest of drawers and radio etc. A full length wardrobe is situated in the hall next to the bedroom.

Double glazing and four electric storage heating make the cooler months cosy.

RECENT CHANGES: I have installed all new living room furniture including dining table and chairs, sofa and arm chair. New crockery, cutlery, cooking pans, (updated annually), dishwasher and toaster for the kitchen. The plumbing has been updated including a new Saniflo system and hot water pressure pump. Additionally most of the bed linen is replaced each year. A telescope is provided as well as binoculars. A Samsung 32' TV and Panasonic DVD/Video player are also provided. New living room blinds and balcony chairs. Made to measure curtains in the bedroom and a dressing mirror have also been recently installed.

A utility cupboard in the hall contains all you may possibly need: Iron, Ironing board, hoover, spare light bulbs, small step ladder and even torches in case you take an evening walk.

Luxury in Cornwall!

You will have the free use of the Tennis Court in the grounds but need to bring your own equipment. You can reserve the court using the book by the payphone on the ground floor.

About Bryan Tyrrell

I am retired and live with my partner in North West Essex, England. Interests include Vintage and Classic cars, walking and cooking. I have loved Cornwall since being a child and some of my family live near Falmouth.

Bryan Tyrrell purchased this apartment in 2009

Why Bryan Tyrrell chose Coverack

For many years we enjoyed holidays in various locations in Cornwall. In 1988 we rented an apartment on Coverack Headland and fell in love with the location, views, peace, walks and the unspoilt nature of the area. We have continued to enjoy our holidays on the Headland ever since. Just after retirement, the apartment we now own came onto the market for sale. We and other owners consider it has possibly the best views of any of the few properties on the Headland.

Whatever the weather, the scenery is always interesting. Sunrise over the sea is beautiful and really encourages you to get out of bed and have breakfast on the balcony. The little fishing boats come out from Coverack Harbour and empty their lobster pots etc., and ships of all sizes pass from time to time. Hawks can be seen hovering, looking for prey and just occasionally you might see a basking shark or seal in the bay below.

What makes this apartment unique

If you enjoy unspoilt areas offering fresh air and relaxation you will have difficulty finding a better location. In good weather, imagine drifting to sleep with the bedroom door to the balcony open and listening to the waves breaking on the shore!

Wake up to sunrise in the bedroom between March and October!

The coastal walks are regarded by many as the best they have enjoyed!

The claim of 180 deg. sea and coastal views from the apartment is true. Not a single roof top or other obstruction in any direction!

Guestbook comments from the owner

'It's November - the waves are crashing onto the dramatic Headland and I'm sitting cosily behind the hugest bay window, taking it all in! Fantastic apartment with everything you could need...I don't usually like going back to the same place twice - this apartment is the exception! - Gill Davis, Farnborough, Hants

'The apartment is beautiful and the views amazing. We had a lovely time and slept better than for ages, thanks to the comfortable bed.' - Dr A Loyal, Bristol.

'What a refreshing break! The apartment had the most stunning views imaginable and was also very peaceful. We walked onto the Headland and stroked the ponies, went down to the beach to swim, walked into the village for lunch at the pub and also tasted the delights of Roskilly's delicious cream teas and Jersey ice cream. The apartment itself was extremely stylish and well-equipped. We would definitely return and recommend.' - W. Isles, Wimbledon, SW London

"This has been one of the best weeks of my life! We loved the view of the village from the balcony in the morning - totally relaxing. At night we sat out under the stars, which was so beautiful. The flat is more than amazing. We are very thankful for the sensational week." - Abdul and Manar, Manchester, March 22. 08.

"We had an excellent break away from it all, so much so that we decided to stay for another day to continue enjoying the apartment and the amazing view." - Debbie and Damian, Bournemouth 28 March, 08

"We have greatly enjoyed our time in Coverack. We could have just sat and looked out of the window the whole time! The walking on the Coastal Path was fantastic and we have really relaxed and recharged our batteries. An experience and a location which we will talk about again and again." - Paul and Chris, Ilfracombe. Feb 24, 08.

"We came here for a rest after a very busy year and have had such a nice, relaxing time. The apartment is fantastic and has everything you could want." - Anne-Marie and Joe, Manchester. 1 December, 07

Beautiful apartment with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and well equipped apartment. The views are stunning and the apartment is within easy reach of the coastal path, which enables you to walk to the village and also surrounding areas. We thought Coverack was a delightful unspoiled village with friendly people. We enjoyed the views from the Harbour Lights restaurant and the owner Chloe's cooking.

No. 11 is an ideal location for exploring the dramatic Lizard

peninsular. We visited picturesque coves and walked on spectacular sandy beaches. A very restful and relaxing holiday and have no hesitation in recommending No. 11 to our friends. When making our reservation Bryan was very helpful and any queries were dealt with promptly.

Thank you Bryan. We hope to return to your lovely apartment in the future.

Owner's Response: John and Ann from South Wales have kindly submitted an excellent review of my apartment; No. 11, Coverack Headland, Cornwall. I am delighted they enjoyed the facilities in the apartment and the views. Certainly the village of Coverack is largely unspoiled and if you enjoy scenic locations, gentle or long distance walks the area will be very hard to beat. The apartment is cosy at most times of the year as even if there is only a little sun shining, the living room becomes warm. You can also watch the sunrise over the sea from the bedroom/living room and in the evening see the start of the sunset to the west, whilst often looking at the cloud formations on the horizon. This is the first new review for 2015 as most of my guests this year return regularly and can only submit a review once. Many thanks! Bryan T.

Beautiful apartment with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We had a thoroughly lovely holiday at this well equipped and beautifully decorated apartment. Byran has obviously put a great deal of thought into the details that make people feel welcome and help make his visitors' stay enjoyable. In addition to the well equipped kitchen and generous supply of linen the apartment is well equipped with information such as maps and guides and other items that help visitors make the most of the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed using the telescope to watch the passing shipping and the bottle of wine in the fridge and delicious biscuits by the kettle were very welcoming touches. In addition to the high quality of the accommodation the views are spectacular, even better than the photographs. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to my friends and family and we hope to return. In fact, I can honestly say that after been lucky enough to have traveled extensively both in this country and abroad this is the best apartment we have ever stayed in.

Owner's Response: This excellent review may help potential new guests when considering my apartment for a holiday. It is particularly rewarding to read that these guests felt it was the best apartment they had ever stayed in. Because there are uninterrupted 180 deg views of the sea and coastline, I often think the apartment is like staying on the 'Bridge' of a large ship. Certainly if you enjoy peace, walking and wildlife the location is difficult to beat, which is why I purchased the property. Thank you, Carol, for taking time to post the review. Bryan T.

Perfect Apartment

  • 5 of 5

As regular visitors to this favourite part of Cornwall we have stayed in some nice places but I doubt if we will ever find more perfect accommodation or setting. The bay windows and patio doors take full advantage of the elevated position and the stunning views on all sides of sea, sky and coastline. Simply and tastefully decorated, comfortable and well equipped - it will be hard to beat.

It is particularly rewarding when guests who know the area well, feel able to say that the apartment "will be hard to beat"! Cliff and his wife will be welcome guests in the future and I thank them for taking time to post an excellent review on the website. Bryan T.

Fantastic apartment in Coverack

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation was clean, modern and had excellent facilities, ideal for a couple wanting peace and quiet. Fantastic 180 degree views of the sea and coast. I will definitely recommend to friends and family and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future. Coverack is a beautiful quaint fishing village on the south west coastal path. I would recommend the Lifeboat Restaurant and takeaway fish and chips from the same establishment in Coverack. The owner provided excellent customer service, before, during and after our visit.

Owner's Response: Jackie and David were the first 'new' guests to holiday at my apartment this year. Their positive review and recommendation of No. 11 is appreciated. Other returning guests have stayed since the beginning of April but the HomeAway website only allows a posting once for each guest irrespective of how many times they have stayed before. I look forward to welcoming Jackie and David in the future. Bryan T.

Beautiful Apartment with amazing views. Everything you could possibly need is in the apartment. Coverack is a lovely unspoiled place with lots of character and a lovely secluded beach. People are very friendly. Lots to do around and about. Land's end being our favourite. If you like a relaxed holiday with scenic views and lovely beaches on your doorstep, we recommend this apartment to you. You never get tired of the views from the apartment. Thanks Bryan.

Wonderful Appartment, Fantastic Location

  • 5 of 5

Appartment was excellent as expected, and the view was truly breathtaking. We had breakfast on the balcony most days, as the mornings are when it catches the sun, and the wooden balcony chairs were really comfortable. The king size bed was very comfortable as were the settee and chair in the living area. The apartment is nicely decorarted, in fact my wife fell in love with one of the paintings in the bedroom (don't worry its still there:). We were fortunate to have sunshine all week and spent time on the lovely beach around low tide, and on the headland sometimes just reading and taking in the view, emptying our heads of all those work and life issues. Most days we walked to Coverack and enjoyed the Harbour Lights for a relaxing coffee & cake, and the beer garden at the Paris for a lunch or just a cold beer or two late in the day, and the takeaway Fish & Chips at the Old Lifeboat House are excellent.

I woud not hesitate to recommend this appartment to anyone.

The apartment is so sunny and warm that it has not needed central heating, but electric night storage heaters throughout the apartment, an electric blanket for the bed, plus effective double glazing mean you needn't shiver in the cooler months. The fridge has small freezer compartment and there's a cooker hood over the stove. There is a second door to the balcony, (south and east facing), with a wooden table and two chairs for meals and drinks. We have a dedicated car parking space and there's a drying area in grounds, which also have a pond and stream. The gardens lead directly to the South Cornish Footpath and private beach. The ground floor laundry room which also contains a mini-library has a commercial washer and dryer (coin-operated). Free internet access via a WiFi connection is available (for which you need your own laptop/PC) and a land line for local/emergency calls. Plus a payphone on the ground floor of the building. 32' TV with all Freeview channels.
