A romantic & stylish self-catering rental apartment, recently refurbished.

Looking for an idyllic holiday break for two? My beautiful holiday home near the lovely, unspoiled village of Coverack, Cornwall, could be the answer. 180 degree views of sea, sky and coastline greet you from the wide bay window in the bright sitting room. A path leads down to a private cove with its own sandy beach. The romantic, stylish south-facing apartment, which is on the first floor of a converted 1903 hotel, was completely refurnished in 2009/10. The living room and bedroom have uninterupted southerly sea views and doors opening onto the balcony - perfect for breakfast. There's casual, open-plan living in the comfortable sitting room which has a streamlined kitchen area with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dish-washer (ground floor laundry) and new TV, DVD, radio/CD, telephone, Broadband. The shower room contains a strikingly modern handbasin, illuminated mirror, shower, shaver socket and heated towel rail. Double glazing and electric storage heating make the cooler months cosy

NEW FOR 2010/11: As the new owner I have installed all new living room furniture including dining table and chairs and sofa; new crockery, cutlery, cooking pans and toaster for the kitchen. The plumbing has been updated including modifications to the Saniflo system and hot water pressure. Additionally all the bed linen and the electric heated under-blanket have been replaced. A telescope has been provided as well as a pair of binoculars. A new Samsung 32' TV and Panasonic DVD/Video player are also provided. New living room blinds and balcony chairs. New made to measure curtains in the bedroom and a dressing mirror.

A utility cupboard in the hall contains all you may possibly need: Iron, Ironing board, hoover, spare light bulbs, small step ladder and even torches in case you take an evening walk.

Luxury in Cornwall!

You have the free use of the Tennis Court in the grounds but need to bring your own equipment. You can reserve the court using the book by the payphone on the ground floor.

RESTRICTIONS: NO SMOKING IN THE APARTMENT OR INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING.

NO PETS.

BOOKING: Any enquiry and booking will be directly with the owner. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY AGENCY BOOKING FEES TO PAY!

Coverack, on the Lizard Peninsula, is one of the last unspoiled, still active fishing villages in Cornwall, yet you are within easy reach of major tourist attractions, such as the Eden Project, St. Ives with its many art studios and galleries, The National Maritime Museum - Falmouth, the National Seal Sanctury, Lands End and the Minnack Theatre. You can enjoy the romance of historic houses and gardens or the national heritage sites of Cornwall's tin mining past. There are several wild life sanctuaries and nature reserves on the Lizard and the fishing villages around Penzance like Mousehole and Newlyn are about 35 mins. drive away. Newquay, the surfers' paradise, is about the same distance.The National Trust Coastal Path lies beneath the apartment windows and is a source of excellent walking with breathtaking views views.The market town of Helston is about 9 miles away. Local shops are available in Coverack and the village of St. Keverne, (2.5 miles).

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (British Pound) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • A booking deposit of £100 (Sterling cheque or Bank Transfer), per week is required, to reserve your holiday dates. The balance of the rental to be paid eight weeks before your holiday preferably in GB Pounds. When transferring money from overseas please first liaise with your bank about the various charges made during the transfer and include these.
    With the balance payment, you should also send a Security Deposit of £150 in the form of a personal cheque. This will not be banked unless there is major loss or damage and will normally be returned to you 7-10 days after your holiday, or shredded. I regret that I cannot take payments by debit or credit card, (owner).
  • The rental rates include the following: Utilities, towels and linen (except beach towels) local phone calls, Broadband access via Wi-fi, and the final cleaning of the apartment.

    Rental periods: Minimum rental of one week. Maximum rental period one month.
  • If there is any likelihood of last minute changes to your plans, please arrange your own holiday insurance to cover any eventualities. As I am a private individual I cannot offer insurance.

    Cancellation and early termination:

    More than eight weeks before rental period: 20% of rental price retained
    Less than eight weeks before rental period: 100% of rental price retained
    (If I am fortunate enough to fill the cancelled booking I will return 80% of the rental price after the holiday has been taken).

  • The Shower room is cream tiled and includes a striking contemporary basin with integral stainless steel towel rail, circular illuminated mirror, shower with shower enclosure, Saniflo toilet, heated towel radiator, bathroom cabinet, shaver socket and extractor fan. There is are ironing facilities at the apartment and towels, (except beach towels), tea towels and linen are included in the rental cost.

  • Views of the sea from the King-sized double bed which has a new 3000 type spring and memory foam mattress, duvet, (electric blanket available), additional blanket and up to six pillows. Bedside tables, individual overhead reading lights, a chest of drawers, radio/alarm clock, a French mirror and long dressing mirror, new lined curtains at the French windows which give access to the balcony with its views of Coverack village. All bedlinen is supplied. There is a wardrobe to the right of the bedroom door in the hall and a hairdryer is provided.

Notes: The apartment is so sunny and warm that it has not needed central heating, but electric night storage heaters throughout the apartment, an electric blanket for the bed, plus effective double glazing mean you needn't shiver in the cooler months. The fridge has small freezer compartment and there's a cooker hood over the stove. There is a second door to the balcony, (south and east facing), with a wrought iron table and two chairs for meals and drinks. We have a dedicated car parking space and there's a drying area in grounds, which also have a pond and stream. The gardens lead directly to the South Cornish Footpath and private beach. The ground floor laundry room which also contains a mini-library has a commercial washer and dryer (coin-operated). Free internet access via a WiFi connection is available (for which you need your own laptop/PC) and a land line for local/emergency calls. Plus a payphone on the ground floor of the building. 32' TV with all Freeview channels.

Fantastic apartment in a superb location. This was our second stay in this excellent apartment. The apartment is light and spacious with everything you could possibly need and more. The furnishings are comfortable and tasteful and immaculately clean. The views are stunning and uninterrupted. We have been holidaying in this area for many years and wish we had discovered this excellent apartment sooner. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment for a quiet get away.

Excellent stay in a gorgeous region. First time in Cornwall, probably not the last. Great appartment, very well equiped, clean, quiet.... Good Pubs nearby.

Just as wonderful second time

Last year we stayed at this beautiful apartment for a week and vowed that we would return and stay longer. This year we did, and stayed for two weeks. It was just as beautiful. The apartment is very well equipped, comfortable and clean and just as described on the website. The location is truly magnificent and Bryan's efforts to ensure that all was well during our stay were much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Many guests return regularly from around the World and the UK, but this was the first return from Australia. Maureen and her husband would be most welcome as guests in the future.

My first words on entering the apartment were "This will do very nicely thank you "!
Great apartment in which my wife and I were very comfortable. Fully equipped even down to Ordnance survey maps, an Eden Project handbook (saved £6) a telescope and an umbrella (not needed)
.
Stunning views with something going on all the time. We even saw a replica of the Golden Hind sailing past, not something you'd see in Torremolinas !
Fabulous walks, great local restaurants, comfort and privavcy, and even your own beach and sculpture garden. It doesn't get much better than this.
We will be back.

A short stay in a Cronish paradise

Who needs to go abroad when there are amazing places like this in England?

We had a wonderful week in Coverack, brilliant walks, fabulous views and stunning scenery. The apartment is modern and tastefully decorated. It has excellent facilities and, of course, that amazing view! We wanted to move in at the end of our trip, or at least stay another week!

We would recommend this to place to anyone, we had such a great time. We definitely plan to visit again soon and hopefully next time we will see some dolphins!
