Guestbook comments from the owner
We had the joy of staying at Kereru House for two weeks in March. If we could choose the perfect house for us this would be it. It was a wonderful holiday stay. Mary communicated with us frequently during the booking process, giving us information we needed to make our decisions.

Kereru House is perched spectacularly on a cliff overlooking the Tasman Sea, with views of Nelson across the water. It is surrounded by apple orchards and beautiful flower gardens.

There is also a vegetable garden where we could pick our own produce and we especially enjoyed the delicious strawberries.

The house is wonderfully decorated and has a warm, homey feeling when you walk in. We were greeted with delicious fresh muffins and a supply of various delicacies to start our holiday. There are large windows that bring the outdoors in, a comfy window seat in the lounge, porches with various views and a sunny breakfast room with gorgeous views upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a washer in the utility room. There are two bathrooms, one the famous "loo with a view".

The upstairs bedroom that we used had sliding doors with screens that led out to one of the balconies. The comfortable bed and peace and quiet at night was conducive to a great night's sleep.

Mary has extensive information available at the house about tourist attractions, as well as the history of the house and a book about the various artworks found in the house.

We quickly became friends with the Highland cattle in the next field and enjoyed the birdlife, especially the family of quail which we saw everyday.

We also enjoyed spending time with Mary and Murray and getting to know them. We even got to ride in Murray's model a to a school fiesta-a unique Kiwi experience.

There are many day trips available from kayaking to golf and visiting wineries.

We enjoyed one of our most wonderful holidays at Kereru House and can only hope to return one day. We can highly recommend staying here.
