With sincerity we and our group enjoyed our stay in at Voila Lola and Bruges immensely, from the start your brother was very helpful and explained everything perfectly. The accommodation was spotless, spacious, well equipped and the location was perfect. The fully stocked wine and beer bar were a welcome surprise after an early start and full day travelling!
I would definitely recommend Voila Lola to others and I hope we can spend some time again in Bruges soon.
Voila Lola is a wonderfully clean home with tasteful decorating. The beds were comfortable and the linens were high quality. I loved the location. It was a short walk to the centre of the city which is ideal - close to the sites yet far enough away to have a quiet evening and enjoy a neighbourhood vibe.
Caroline answered all my questions promptly and met us upon our arrival. She even arranged for a cab to pick us up and drive us to the train station, when our stay was done.
I would STRONGLY recommend Viola Lola to anyone who wants a rental with no hassles, strong customer service, and a wonderfully maintained property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our rental experience from the beginning of the booking process until checkout. Caroline's English is very good and I always received friendly responses to my emails within 24 hours (usually less). She made checking-in a breeze, as I was able to send her an email when we were on our way from our stay in London, so she was waiting at the apartment when we arrived and greeted us with a bottle of champagne. We had one other married couple staying with us, for a total of 4 adults in our 30s. Caroline gave us restaurant recommendations and other helpful tips about the area and the apartment. She has local beer and other adult beverages stocked in the refrigerator, which are available for purchase and she deducts the purchases from the rental deposit. We found this helpful since most pubs close down pretty early in Bruges, so it was nice to have beer available to wind down after long days of sightseeing. The home itself is extremely clean and modern on the inside, but the exterior still holds its typical Bruges charm. We appreciated having 2 bathrooms, though the one on the top floor attic room offers somewhat less privacy because sound carries throughout the apartment and there is no door to the top floor (just a stairwell); but we're all good friends and just made jokes about making sure the TV was on loud enough so as not to over-hear anyone's bathroom business. The middle floor bathroom is large and exquisitely modern. We found the beds comfortable, though I have to say we were so completely exhausted by the end of our days I think we all fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow. Our stay was not nearly long enough, so we plan to return and will most definitely stay at Voila Lola and would recommend this home to anyone. It was a truly perfect location with all modern conveniences. We also found the most fantastic pub through Rick Steves' book called The t' Brugs Beertje at 5 Kemelstraat. I didn't even like beer before this trip, just tolerated it, now my husband and I are complete beer snobs. There are over 300 beers on the menu and the staff is very friendly and will make recommendations. This pub is great for meeting other friendly travelers. We exchanged contact info with a wonderful older couple from Wales who offered to let us stay at their home during any future trip to Wales, & met a nice Scottish couple who have been visiting Bruges and t' Brugs Beertje for over 20 years. We're hoping to start the same tradition!
Wow, what a wonderful stay we had (5 Friends for a girls weekend away, without the kids :-) ) - We received a very warm welcome even though we didn't arrive until nearly 20.00, it is a Beautiful house within walking distance to the Bruges markets and town square, there is supermarket just over the road for fresh breakfast supplies (not open on a Sunday) and a wonderful restaurant (Bistro Du Phare) open till late and serving lovely food very nearby (Thanks for recommending and booking this for us). The bedrooms and living areas are very comfortable and the cooking facilities looked very good (We ate out so didn't use them)The wine in the property is very reasonably priced and much appreciated when coming 'home' from a day out, as was the bottle of champagne on arrival :-). We would all be very happy to return to stay in this property again with our families or as a group. Thank you for making our weekend away so special.
This was exactly as described on the web site, with the addition of a warm welcome and some extra appreciated touches (such as the champagne on arrival!). An excellent way to experience Bruges.
This was a very pleasant stay. It was only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main plaza. The house was very neat and organized. The beds were neatly made and very comfortable. Caroline was very helpful and showed us around very nicely. Overall, our stay was very nice and we would like to stay again in the future.
