Location: In the attractive ‘urbanisation’ of Cotos De Monterrey, near the village of Venturada, on the A1 Burgos road north out of Madrid city centre. The centre of the city is about a half an hour's drive, with its well-known museums, shopping and night-life. To the west, the old town of Manzanares Del Real is about 25 minutes away. The regional park, nature reserve and mountain ranges of La Pedriza can be found on the edge of the town, with extensive climbing and walking activities over a large expanse of unspoilt mountain countryside. In winter, the ski stations of Navacerrada and Valdesqui are around 50 minutes by car. Only a short distance away is the old village of Patones, a popular weekend destination for Madrileños, with its concentration of fine restaurants and ancient preserved buildings.

Ancient city and World Heritage Site, Segovia is to the north-west of Madrid, beyond the Sierra De Guadarrama.
Royal Palace of la Granja de San Ildefonso
Just a short distance from Segovia, in the hills next to the Sierra, is La Granja, the former summer residence of the Royal Family. Modelled on Versailles, the house and grounds are laid out in an idyllic setting beneath the mountains, which provide the water for the numerous beautiful, gravity-fed fountains. A perfect location for a day trip and picnic.
Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Todelo has a rich variety of ancient and interesting places to visit. The most famous artist born here was 'El Greco', many of whose paintings were painted in and around the city.
Apparently named after the Basque word for hawthorn, Aranjuez is just outside Madrid's southern city limits. The Concertio De Aranjuez, by Rodrigo, made Aranjuez famous the world over.
This beautiful detached villa with pool is in Cotos De Monterrey, about 30 minutes drive from the centre of Madrid, a community of some 200 houses, almost all detached villas with plots between 1000 and 3000 m². It was the first weekend and summer community built outside Madrid's centre, chosen for its position on top of a hill with cooling breezes, next to a Moorish ancient monument.
Within easy reach of Madrid's airport at Barajas, (25-30 min), Cotos De Monterrey is ideally situated for day trips to Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial, Manazanres Del Real, Navacerrada, La Pinilla, Aranzuez, Avila and Segovia, (including La Granja), being just off the A1 to Burgos (but out of earshot).
You can also visit the city centre easily, to enjoy Madrid's fine bars and restaurants and museums such as The Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen collection.
Activities nearby include mountain walking and climbing at La Pedriza, sailing & windsurfing at El Atazar. bird watching, and skiing in the winter months at Navacerrada and Valdesqui.
The hugely interesting ancient village of Upper Patones is about 25 minutes away, where a large number of restaurants and well-preserved historic buildings can be found.
Shopaholics can visit one of Europe's largest shopping centres, Plaza Norte 2 and Megapark, near San Sebastian De Los Reyes.
The Cotos De Monterrey estate has 24 hour manned security and entry cameras. There are two large community swimming pools, paddle tennis and tennis courts, basketball, green areas and children’s play areas. In the centre of the estate are a supermarket, a church, a restaurant, a pharmacy, a community centre and a new municipal sports centre. There is little traffic and it passes slowly. At weekends and during the summer, many Madrileños come from the capital for some fresh air and rest.
