Vigoleno, a castle-village in Emilia Romagna, located between the Geological Reserve and Stirone River’s Park, is one of the most fascinating and full of history medieval villages in Italy. In 1132 the name Vigoleno was cited in documents for the first time.
Culture, art and environment together with a great enogastonomic tradition are the essence of the Vigoleno’s land, which is situated between the Apennines and the Po River, just one hours by car from Milan and one hour flight from Rome.
At the center of the circuit of the castles, at 8 chilometers from Vigoleno lies Salsomaggiore and Tabiano Terme, the most visited spa towns in Europe. Also, at 10 minutes by car, you can find Busseto, the town of Maestro Giuseppe Verdi.
A famous local product is Vin Santo, a delicated wine produced following a traditional method.
