The apartment is located in the district of St. Maria Novella, one of the oldest in Florence. A few minutes walk from Central Station, the main hub for all the links via bus and rail to the airport (Florence and Pisa) and other areas of turistic interest. All major sights are within walking distance, as well as shops and restaurants. In the surrounding streets there are many craft shops and antique shops and do not miss the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica of Santa Maria Novella, a herbal medicine shop that looks like a museum.

Wonderful apartment in heart of the city

This apartment is wonderful and has been extremely well maintained. My husband and I just returned from a four night stay in the apartment and we really loved it. Roberta, the owner, was prompt and courteous with questions prior to our arrival, as well as with any questions that we had during our stay. She provided her cell phone number and we were able to text back and forth with her during our stay. She also checked in on us to make sure everything was okay and returned the deposit before we left, which was a nice added touch. The apartment has alot of character with the tile floors, exposed ceiling beams, fireplace, and loft. We also loved the large cabinet in the dining room. Also, since the apartment is on the top floor, it has a lot of windows (excellent views in all directions) and lets in alot of natural light. It is open and airy and we loved it because it was a nice change of pace from the typically small & stuffy rooms you get in most hotels/apartments in Europe. The apartment is exactly as advertised (the pictures do not do it justice as it is even nicer in person) with a fully functioning kitchen and full bathroom, with ample space for at least 6 persons. The location is fabulous with it being on a quiet side street that is just about a 5 minute walk from the train station and about a 7-10 minute walk from the famous bridge and Uffizi Gallery. There are also three quaint family-run restaurants on the street...one of which is fabulous. The one that is fabulous is the fresh seafood/fresh pasta restaurant on the corner. It was busy from lunch through late night dinner and we liked it so much we ate there three of the four nights---trying the different house specialties. The remaining night we cooked, which was nice because the apartment had a full "American sized" refrigerator and freezer. I would absolutely recommend this apartment to anyone interested in staying in Florence as we already recommended it to individuals we met on a day tour that we took from Florence. The combination of the price, location, cleanliness, and friendliness of Roberta rivals any 5-star hotel in the area. The only downside is that there is no lift and it is on the top floor; therefore, anyone with difficulty with stairs would not be able to get to the apartment. We definitely didn't mind the stairs. Roberta---if you ever decide to sell the apartment, please let us know :) We will rent again when we return to Florence in the future.

Excellent Apartment Near the Center of Florence

Finding a place to stay for a family of five is not easy, but Roberta, the owner of this apartment, did an excellent job providing us with a clean, comfortable location close to the train station on a quiet street. The apartment was just as described in the listing. Roberta met us at the apartment, explained the use of the amenities, and responded later very quickly when we had trouble with the water (one of us had mistakenly turned off the electric pump).

The heart of Florence is a small place, so the location of this apartment is close enough to walk to all of the major sites of the city. We enjoyed a great dinner across the river, and another one right up the street at a restaurant recommended by Roberta. We particularly enjoyed going the short distance to the central market in the morning for fruits and vegetables and more for lunches and snacks.

The apartment has one room that is shut off from the rest, another two beds in the loft area, and a couch that turns into a double bed in the main living area. While tight, it provided plenty of room for the five of us. The air conditioning worked well and quietly, so that we did not have to open up the apartment to the Florentine mosquitoes at night.

I am sure there are better places to stay in Florence, but there can't be many at this price and at this convenience. I should also note that, at the conclusion of our stay, Roberta returned our entire security deposit with not problem. She allowed us to book the apartment without an advance deposit, and was an excellent host. Thanks.

Nice apartment in Florence

We stayed in this nice apartment for 4 nights. It's located close to the train station (about 4 or 5 mins walk). The neighborhood has everything. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The internet cafe at the corner of the street (@Palazzuolo) only charges 1 Euro for an hour.

The apartment itself is clean and spacious. We are a group of three and it has more space than we need. It's definitely better than a tiny hotel room.

The place is bright with a lot of windows. The double bed is firm and comfortable. We can actually see the dome of a church nearby, so we can call it "a room with a view". With a gigantic door lock we felt relatively secured. Air conditioning worked fine. The loft with the skylight is lovely.

The only two things that can make it even better are:
1) there's no elevator. You have to carry your luggage up four floors.
2) there's no Wi-Fi or internet available

But even without these two, it's still a great place to stay for our Florence trip.

Bright apartment in a great location

We stayed in Florence for nine nights and this apartment was a great base in terms of comfort and location. It was very clean and spacious, especially as there were only two of us. The open-plan dining and living room was bright and airy, as was the double bedroom, which had loads of storage.
Although the kitchen was quite small, we didn't find it a problem as we ate out most of the time. Plus, the big kitchen window (with beautiful mountain views) made it feel a lot bigger. The only thing the kitchen was missing was a kettle; otherwise it had everything we needed.
There were lovely views from every window in the apartment, but this does mean there are quite a few flights of stairs to climb, which was quite exhausting when we had to carry our suitcases up.
Roberta was really friendly and helpful when we first arrived and when we needed to ask her things during our stay. She also gave us a bottle of wine when we arrived that was a very kind gesture.

It was the perfect Italian apartment for our holiday; I'd highly recommend it.
