Photos and Description of the Angelholm vacation cottage rental
Four bedroom cottage in a rural location with a large garden

A traditional thatched cottage fully renovated in 2005 now provides an ideal accommodation for a family holiday and a comfortable base for an exploring the walking, swimming and golf courses of the famous Kullaberg. There is a charming well equipped kitchen, a separate utility room, dining room and sitting room. The cottage sleeps 7 people, but is recommended for 6 people . There is one double bedroom, one triple, one single and one small single room, and a delightful gallery that opens into a small library and overlooks the kitchen below. After busy days exploring the many activities available in the area curl up infront of the log burning fire, relax in the claw foot bath or enjoy the space of the kitchen while cooking the evening meal. The large garden provides a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the views of the beautiful Swedish countryside.

Located on the outskirts of Höganäs near the city of Helsingborg, the cottage offers the perfect setting for exploring the Kullaberg, Skåne and the east coast of Denmark. Few places in the North can match Kullen for the beauty of its natural landscape with its breezy forests of beech and fir, its romantic grottoes, its vertiginous cliffs that plunge straight into the sea, its cliff-top views out over mile upon mile of bright blue water. The cottage itself sits in a rural location 5km inland from the sea, making it a perfect setting for outdoor activities including hiking, biking, sea swimming, bird watching and playing golf on one of the many golf courses in the local area. The Kullenberg peninsular offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy water sports including sailing and sea kayaking. There are a number of horse riding stables in the local area that cater for different levels of experience. The famous seaside towns of Mölle and Viken can be reached by car or bicycle from the cottage, and offer interesting shopping and wonderful cafes and restaurants. A large sports hall in Höganäs offers a range of activities from indoor swimming, to tennis and bowling. The area has a rich history as a centre for ceramic arts, and is home to many local artists and an impressive range of museums and art galleries, including the Mjellby Konstmuseum - Halmstadgruppens Museum, Fredriksdal Open Air Museum, and a short ferry ride across the Kattagat to Denmark's Helsingor's Kronborg Castle, better know as Hamlets Castle, and the world famous Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebaek. The cities of Helsingborg, Malmö, Lund and Copenhagen, packed with world class shopping, restaurants and culture, are within easy reach for exciting day trips.

In winter the ski resort of Halmstad is less than hour from the cottage, and the frozen lakes provide the perfect setting for ice skating and cross country skiing. There are indoor ice rinks in the nearby towns of Jonstorp and Ängelholm, and one of the best ice hockey teams in Sweden, the Rögle Bandyklubb regularly play at the new stadium in Ängelholm, a 25 minute drive from the cottage. For a truly Swedish experience the famous public sea saunas of Helsingborg and Höganäs are hard to beat and are open all year.

The town of Höganäs is well connected by a good bus service to the towns of Helsingborg and

Ängelholm. Rail services run regularly from Helsingborg and Ängelholm to Malmö, Lund,Göteborg and Copenhagen. There are international airports in Malmö, Göteborg and Copenhagen. Journey time by car from Copenhagen to the cottage is 1 hour and 15 minutes and from Göteborg it is 2 hours.

About Camilla Kennedy Harper

We live in the UK, in a small village near the town of Sandwich, a beautiful historic port on the SE coast of England.

Camilla Kennedy Harper purchased this cottage in 2005
Why Camilla Kennedy Harper chose Angelholm

We decided to buy a cottage in Sweden to create a special place for us, our family and friends to have lots of memorable great holidays. We thought this house had lots of character and loved the big garden and the feeling of being away from it all. We wanted to have the freedom to cycle rather than drive on holiday, and we liked that the cottage was not right next to one beach which might get busy and crowded, but close enough to lots of different kinds of beaches and coastline to swim and walk. We love our cottage!

What makes this cottage unique

If a house can feel friendly, that is how it feels to us, welcoming us back each time we visit. When we are away we wistfully think of holidays relaxing there, enjoying the time with our young daughters and friends that visit. It is a sociable house, the open kitchen, the cosy sitting room are all great spaces to sit, talk and enjoy being together. We have had many happy days in the garden, basking in the suntraps, playing cricket and rounders with friends and their kids in the field, teaching our youngest to learn how to ride a bike to mucking around in the snow in the winter.

A great time at the cottage

Have been meaning to write and let you know what a great time we had at the cottage, we were lucky with great weather as well. Only problem we had was that the electrics for the washer and dryer tripped and the outhouse was locked, contacted your house keeper and she came over and we sorted it before the rest of the family were up for breakfast.

Kullabygden is really beautiful

We had a lovely time in the cottage. Kullabygden is really beautiful and I hadn't been there since I was a child so it was nice to come back. We really enjoyed the house especially the well equipped kitchen and beautiful bathroom. We all felt that a update of the garden furniture would enable your guests to enjoy the lovely garden more (just a constructive input:-))

Very happy at the cottage

We really enjoyed our time in Sweden and were very happy at the cottage, which is really lovely. Highlights were swimming from the rocks at Arild where the sea is so clear, and a walk to Nimmis followed by catch of the day for supper at a quayside cafe in Molle.

a crisp bread for every occasion

  • Submitted: Apr 12, 2012

We had a short family break at Nygårdavägen 187 in September. 4 adults and 4 children. It really was one of those holidays that was memorable for all the right reasons. The local area is amazing, it has an air of calm and tranquillity, with the clear Swedish sky light, fabulous. It is amazing, the surrounding area is full of great places and things to do ( not amusement parks or bingo, more crabbing, swimming, walking, good contemporary art etc )

There are cycle paths close to the house so we rode everywhere, to the shops, to the beaches. The shops are wonderful, great food, variety, and a crisp bread for every occasion imaginable. Cafes are plentiful, and portions are generous, a like of fish and sea food is helpful, but not essential. However, a tuna mayonnaise roll is not the same as it is in the UK. Non of that nasty tinned tuna this is the real deal and mighty good it was too!

The property is close to a road, however, this is the land that gives us the mighty Volvo, where safety and sensibility is the national dish, occasionally a car trundles past. Spotty youth, hot hatch, drum and bass are not to been seen, thank the lord!!

The house is a wonderful place to stay, clean and tidy. It is a real holiday home, it feels warm and friendly and has a feeling of calm and holiday laziness. The owners were immensely helpful with travel advice and enjoyable things and places for both younger and older members to visit and do.

Highly recommended, must go back!

Good for swimming and sight seeing.

We had a wonderful time at this house. It's well placed for swimming in the coves and rocky beaches of the south east coast and also within a short car ride of Lund, a charming town with a great museum of local life and an impressive cathedral. Good shops, too.

The house itself was clean, very comfortable and very Swedish - lots of blue and white. A spacious garden with plenty of space for kids to run about in, and open countryside to the rear of the house.
Owner's Response: The sea swimming in Arild and all along the Kullaberg is the best in the world, glad you enjoyed it!
