HOGBACKA ONE BEAUTIFUL LODGE. A MILLION REASONS TO STAY, IN SUMMER AND WINTER

Lapland Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

Sleeps 10-12. 5 x double or 5 x twin. Plus sofa bed arrangement

The lodge is always warm and comfortable. Although a traditional Swedish building, furnishings give a contemporary feel.

There are 5 bedrooms. Each room has a twin bed facility, which can be turned into double bed arrangements.

There is single and double bed linen in the cupboards.

Triple glazing allows for warmth and comfort and electrically heated radiators can be used in winter.

The living area comprises of main entrance hall, dining room, lounge, utility room, 3 bathrooms and study (3 workstations and internet)

A large and well equipped kitchen can also be used as an informal eating area for 8-10 people, while the dining room can seat 10 easily.

The utility room has a washing machine and plenty of space for drying.

A spacious lounge is made even more appealing with a log fire and 3 comfortable leather sofas.

Hogbacka is situated in one acre of land offering plenty of space for all.

The large BBQ area offers an ideal spot to socialise during long summer evenings

Area around the Lodge: Hogbacka Lodge lies in the village of Nystrand, a peaceful and charming location.

A pine forest borders the site and this provides an invigorating walk through the trees and up to the path bordering the hills above.

The Pite Alve river one of the largest in Sweden, runs below, on the opposite side of the road and it’s only 1 km walk to the bridge where 2 sand beaches can be found.

The grounds are spacious and ideal for sunbathing in Summer and sledging and snowballing in Winter.

It’s an excellent base for your summer or winter activities.

Hogbacka - means“ the house on the hill” and under the piercing blue skies and warm sun, the stunning site offers a welcome throughout each season of the year.

During Summer months days are long and the sun only dips below the horizon for a short time.

During Winter it is light between 9 am and 3 pm, but the variety of activities and the glowing lights in every window ensure.

That it's always a pleasure to return to 'The house on the hill.

Around Alvsbyn: Alvsbyn is known as the “Pearl of Norrbotten”, and within this vast area there are many places to visit.

The local indigenous people are Sammi, and they alone can own reindeer.

During February, a local Sammi gathering and market are held in Jokkmokk, a town aprox.2 hours drive from the lodge.

On the way, you will cross the Arctic Circle.

The gathering is world famous and many tourists and locals attend. Accommodation is at a premium, but not if you are staying at Hogbacka Lodge.

Storforrsen falls are a magnificent sight, only 40 minutes drive away ,but closer still are the falls at Fallforrsen only 10 kilometres distant.

The old town of Gammelstad is also a heritage site. This is close to the larger town of Lulea, and well worth a visit.

Go to the harbour in Lulea which is frozen in winter and watch people ice fish, or take a peek a the ice breaking vessels.

In Summer Lulea hosts music festivals. Take a trip to one or other of the many off shore islets.

Relax. Enjoy.
