Notes: The Apartment is on the west side, just off Broadway in a historic, residential, eclectic neighborhood with multi-ethnic families & children and parks. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with the convenience of being just steps off Broadway. Grocery, banks, restaurants, pharmacy, dry cleaners, etc. are all available on the corner. It’s a short walk to all major transportation and convenient to everything in NYC. TRANSPORTATION: Five subways serve the neighborhood. The closest Subway, is a 2-block, 2-minute walk from the Apartment. From there, it's about 5-6 minutes to Central Park and 6-8 min. to Times Sq. / 42nd St / Theatre Dist. A taxi or town car service is also available at the door.

if you are thinking of a trip to new york, this is the place to stay for anyone on a budget, my parents stayed in a hotel in times square at the same time, the room was cramped and dated and it cost much more than we had paid. This apartment is well maintained and homely, the subway is just around the corner, which takes you right into times square and many other popular destinations without having to change, you can buy a wkly pass which cost around $25.00. The neighbourhood is safe, plenty round and about ie. supermarkets, take aways, liquor store, there is also a playground across the road and basketball courts for the kids...
The restaurants i would recommend are Carmines, ruby tuesdays, the view restaurant which revolves and is situated on top of the marriot hotel (i dont recommend the lounge buffet, but the restaurant is excellent) and planet hollywood, all situated in times square.
We had i great time, we are glad we rented this apartment as we got to see the commercial side of new york and the residential side, fantastic experience...

We were met on arrival by Chik who gave us a warm welcome and helpful introduction to the apartment, surrounding area and NYC. As a family party of 6 adults, the apartment was large enough for our needs. Although we didn't cook, the facilities in the kitchenette were compact and comprehensive. The decor and furnishings were tasteful and of a high standard. The flat was spotless and a pleasure to return to each night. Everything we could have required had been thought of.

Although the location is a 15 minute ride from the hustle and bustle of Times Square, the flat is in a friendly neighbourhood within easy walking distance of the subway station. In fact the journeys gave us the opportunity to people watch and the weekly metro card is excellent value for money, giving unlimited travel.

We would love to return some day and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment.

great appartment

3 girlfriends and I ventured to NY for a shopping trip and were lucky enough to book this appartment. Although it is outside of the usual shopping area we had no problem getting into the centre of Manhattan. It took us just 4 minutes to walk to the subway station and about 15 minutes later were in the heart of the shopping district - no need to change - just one line all the way there.

The appartment was immaculate, very safe and beautifully decorated - A rare thing in rental property. We did not feel in the least unsafe in this area even when we returned at 11pm at night, loaded down with shopping bags after a heavy day in Macy's!! It was definitely worth its money and we will be returning, with out a doubt.

ALL THAT WE HOPED FOR AND MORE

When we booked this apartment online, we did not read any of the written reviews, so we only had the photos to go by. Well, we couldnt have been happier. Chik greeted us on arrinval and very kindly carried our our heavy suitcases up to our apartment on the 2nd floor. He gave a thorough run through of the apartment and then spent more than half an hour explaining all about the area and what was available with regards to shops and eating. He also filled us in on the Subway and how to get around and provided us with a mobile to use for local calls and to contact him while we were staying.
The apartment was large, clear and airy with a king size bed in the bedroom and 2 queen size pull out sofas in the lounge. We were so comfortable we really didnt want to leave but we unfortunately had to return home.
The only complaint that we did have, if you can call it that, is that you can hear the people in the apartment above moving about.
The subway was only a couple of blocks walk away and within 15 minutes you were in Time Square. We queued to buy tickets at the Half Tix box and went to see a show on Broadway called "Rock of Ages" which I would highly recommend to anyone who was a young adult in the 80's.
I would happily recommend Chick and his apartment to anyone who is considering either a short or long term holiday in New York

This is a great apartment for your vacation. The description was correct, although the apartment was beyond expectation. The property was extremely clean. What was handy was that a well filled supermarket was just one block away. Also, owner Chik was very flexible with us when our flight plan was changed, and when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the bathroom. He gave us a cell phone for unlimited use in NYC and we could call him at any time. We would highly recommend this apartment!
