Arbanija is a village by the sea with Dominican convent of St. Cross, founded in XV. Century. The monastery complex has cloister with the spacious garden and quite interesting is the northern wall built like fortress for better defense.
Arbanija is small and pitoresque tourist resort, situated on the north side of the island, 4km from the city centre of Trogir, southwest of the Ciovo's part of Trogir and Mastrinka, and northeast of Slatine. The village disposes of a restaurant, several cafes, shops and modern equipped private houses and apartments for vacation. The area of Arbanija is known for beautiful beaches, coastal area overgrown with woods and many small coves.
The geographical 'center' of Dalmatia - Ciovo island - abuts the historical core of ancient Trogir, the UNESCO-protected town, the bridges of which anchor it onto the mainland. Our Lady of Prizidnica is a well-known sanctuary where hermit-monks have been settled since the Middle Ages.
