The property is located on the edge of historic Speightstown. During the week you can see Caribbean life as it has been for hundreds of years, the fishermen bringing in the days catch, to be sold later at Speightstown fish market, the colourfully dressed ladies selling exotic fresh fruit and vegetables at the side of the main street, the general hustle and bustle of a busy Caribbean town. A small road runs between the property and the white sand beach, this is the old coast road. All amenities are within a 2/3 minute walk, inc.: banks, supermarkets, shops, bars, and a couple of restaurants etc. The local pub 'Fisherman's Pub' has live music every Wednesday, where a cool, Bank's beer awaits. The area is blessed with a beautiful white sandy beach, known as Heywoods, some of the best swimming/ diving/ snorkeling in the area.. Nearby Holetown with it's many shops and restaurants is located just a 10 minute drive away., the rugged and breathtaking east coast is but a 15 minute drive.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rates for Christmas and New Year 2008/09 are £1750 per week and £3500 for two weeks.

    A non-refundable deposit of 30% will be taken to secure a booking.
    A security deposit of £250 is required at the time of booking, this shall be returned to you in full should no damage/breakages have occurred.
    Balance payment will be due 8 weeks before your arrival.
    In the event of a booking cancellation penalties are as follows:
    7 weeks : 40% of total price refundable
    6 weeks : 30% of total price refundable
    5 weeks : 20% of total price refundable
    4 weeks and less: no refund due

Leisure Activities: There are several world renowned golf courses within easy reach, including the famous 'Green Monkey' at the equally famous Sandy Lane hotel, diving/wreck diving/night diving are all available 100 metres from the property, (can be arranged in advance), fishing, catamarans, Hobie cats, jet skis, water skiing, snorkeling etc., all available. The nearby 4 star hotel issues inexpensive day passes, which entitle you to use all the facilities including: golf, watersports, childrens club, pools, restaurants, bars etc., these can be arranged locally. If water is not your thing - maybe a horseback ride through the historic sugar plantations is something to think about. Polo is extremely popular on the island, as is horse-racing held every Saturday at the Garrison Savannah race course. Oh yes - almost forgot CRICKET is everywhere.........

The best of Barbados: No matter what your tastes there is something for everyone on the beautiful island of Barbados. It's very easy to get around independently, either on public transport (a trip on a reggae bus is an absolute must), or if you decide to hire a car. Whatever, there is so much to see and do that one visit to Barbados will not be enough. There are lots of historic sights, preserved sugar plantations and colonial buildings, nature areas, such as Animal Flower Cave, the amazing Harrison's Cave, beautiful stunning scenery along the rugged East Coast and of course the fabulous white sandy beaches that Barbados is famous for.

Dining and Entertainment: Barbados caters to every taste in this department also. Speightstown has it's own charm with several bars and restaurants within walking distance. If you wish to venture further afield - just a 10 minute drive will take you into Holetown where world class restaurants and evening entertainment awaits, a favourite celebrity haunt, it's not unusual to see several in just one evening.... For the more adventurous a visit to the famous fish fry at Oistins on Friday nights is a must, and will surely provide a memorable evening. All is within easy reach and a car is not a necessity if you wish to take a break from your day to day life. Relax and enjoy.

Other Activities: Diving can be arranged previously including night dives with the fabulous Reefers and Wreckers Dive Shop a minutes walk away.

Across the road from the beach. Walking distance to Speighstown and the WONDERFUL Mango's by the Beach Restaurant. LandLady very accomodating and very helpful. Sanja is a fantastic housekeeper.

Would recommend this apartment to anyone.
